Tano Doesn't Hit the Spot!

The Tano is a cute tiny little vibrating butt plug. The small size makes it great for beginners. The controls are hard to access, and impossible to access when the toy is inserted.

Use

The PicoBong Tano is part of Lelo's new surfer-themed line of toys designed to appeal to "young social butterflies" (as their website puts it). The Tano is advertised as fully waterproof to a depth of one meter.

This would be a GREAT beginner anal toy because of the small size.
It would be a TERRIBLE beginner anal toy because the controls are inaccessible while it's in use.

This is also not really a 'prostate' toy. Nothing about the shape of it suggests that it will touch anyone's prostate.

Material / Texture

The Tano is made from silky-soft silicone and shiny hard plastic. The insertable part is mostly silicone. It joins the plastic base at the neck of the toy, so part of the plastic is insertable, too. "PicoBong" is embossed into the silicone, which looks nice, but does add another area to clean carefully when you're done with this toy. The hard plastic base has a little bit of a sharp edge to it. This is unfortunate, because it is designed to nestle against the perineum, which is a tender body part.

Design / Shape / Size

The Tano is tiny and light. The whole toy is only 4.5" long, and about 3.75" of that is insertable. The diameter is only 1" at the widest (3.25" circumference). This is a great size for beginner anal play. The silicone is soft and smooth, but unfortunately joins the plastic, so the seam is inserted, too.

Weighing in at just a little over one ounce, this is easy to travel with, and it doesn't look EXACTLY like a butt plug, so it's sort of discreet. I'm not sure exactly what you could say it IS, but it doesn't scream "sex toy."

Performance

Unfortunately, the cute little controls that are embossed in the side of the silicone are a) hard to find unless you know what you're looking for, and b) INSERTED with the toy.
The controls are a small "+" and "-" that are incorporated into the PicoBong logo.
Once turned on and inserted, the toy has to be removed to reach the controls again. Design FAIL.
The vibrations are great for a toy powered by only a single AAA battery. There are 12 variations of speed and vibe pattern. PicoBong claims this will run for 2 hours on one battery. I haven't tested this claim.
The toy is very quiet.
    • Discreet sound
    • Hard to figure out
    • Lots of variety in function

Care and Maintenance

Clean this toy up with soap and water or a toy cleaner. Don't use silicone lubes on silicone toys, and don't store this with other silicone toys. Be sure to pay extra attention to cleaning up the embossed letters and that seam.

The silicone portion unscrews from the plastic portion, and that's where the little AAA battery goes. As always, it is recommended to store your toys with the batteries OUT.

Packaging

Tano is in a cute little black-on-black window-front box. It is non-threatening, looks cute, and has a little bit of a luxury look to it. The box could be used for storage, but it takes up way more room than just the little toy. There is a small instruction booklet.

Tano is also packaged with a little black and pink die. Instead of numbers, there are PicoBong toys on the sides. The die goes with an online game. I'm still not quite sure why, though. The online game is cute, but dice aren't needed to play. You can win real prizes, though!
    • Discreet looking packaging

Experience

This toy feels good, but is not a prostate massaging toy. Ladies, try it in your own ass (especially if you just like a LITTLE anal stimulation) and see if it turns your whole vagina into a vibrator!
Follow-up commentary
This is a cute toy with a great concept and flawed execution. The speed controls being INSIDE one's ass? Bad idea.
