The Gumdrop butt plug is a good choice for a beginner butt plug. I would recommend this toy to anyone male or female that is considering anal exploration. The color, size, shape and texture earn this product high marks from me with just a couple of quirks.

I want to start off with one down fall of this plug. I have learned that most sex toys have a distinct odor based on their material. Most of the time it is a sickeningly sweet smell. Crystalessence is composed of PVC and is not listed as being phthalates free. Even though it is said to be non porous material I suggest using a condom since it is an anal toy and the risk of there being phthalates in this toy. This toy is still safe to use with oil, silicone and water based lubricants. Cleaning was very easy, after removing the condom I just washed with warm water and antibacterial soap. I also suggest washing before each use to remove anything that might have landed on it since it was put away.

I chose the green color. It is very bright, like the color of Mt Dew. The material is very firm, but still flexes with the body. There is a suction cup base that is quite powerful, if there is water under the suction cup, it is very hard to get unstuck. All of these have made this toy very simple to use alone. The base is wide and strong enough to prevent it from entering too far accidentally.

My husband has big hands but the overall length is about like one of his fingers. The first bulb is about the size of the largest bead on a regular set of anal beads and I think that makes this toy a great choice for beginners looking to progress up from that. The next two flanges are a little more elongated and slightly larger at the bottom. Still they are not much bigger than the top bubble. With a good amount of lube on the toy as well as massaging some lube around my ass during foreplay I had no pain or issues with this slipping in. I really liked how with this toy being firm that I could feel it inside and feel it moving and massaging me as I moved. I did not experience any slipping out of this toy during use but I am not very experienced with anal yet. For some one more experienced, I can see how a larger plug might be a better choice, but I think the gumdrop has qualities that can be appreciated by just about anyone wanting a good toy for ass play.
