First Impression:

My first impression of the X-10 anal beads was one of delight mixed with apprehension since I had bought them back when I was new to anal play.

Material:

The X-10 anal beads are made from a firm jelly material by a company called California Exotic Novelties. Jelly has a safety rating of 2 out of 10, which means it's not a very safe material on its own and isn't recommended for sharing without a condom. Being that this toy is made from jelly it's safe to use water-based and silicone lubricants with it, so have at it. As far as smell goes, this toy has a slightly rubbery smell to it but it's not overpowering.

Color & Texture:

I chose the black color for these anal beads, but they also come in Blue, Pink and Purple. The jelly material is somewhat shiny, smooth and cool to the touch. These anal beads are not very grabby on the skin, but a good lube is recommended for use.

Controls & Shape:

The only control for this toy would be your hand guiding it in or out using the handle located on the end and there are no seams or gaps making it very comfortable to use.

There are 10 beads in all on this toy and they gradually move up in size. 1st and 2nd beads are about 1/4", 3rd and 4th beads are 1/2", 5th and 6th beads are 3/4", 7th and 8th beads are 7/8" and the 9th and 10th beads are 1". The handle on the end measures about 1 1/2".

Noise:

The X-10 anal beads are virtually noiseless unless you count the noises you'll make when inserting and pulling them out of your ass. This would not be heard through closed doors and could be used anywhere including in dorm rooms and bathtubs/showers.

Cleaning & Storage & Packaging:

These anal beads are waterproof, so no worrying about submerging and damaging them. Jelly cannot be sanitized or sterilized, so no boiling these beads and no sharing this toy without first covering it with a condom. These beads should be cleaned with warm water and mild soap or a toy cleaner.

It is recommended that you store these anal beads in a cool dark place, so in a drawer after completely dried off would work or in a nice storage box. Personally I keep these on a shelf with my other toys in our play room, but they don't touch each other.

The packaging this toy came in was one of those clear plastic "clam shell" types. The only thing in the package with the toy was a paper backing with X-10 Beads, California Exotic Novelties' logo and an image of a naked lady on it.

Use:

The X-10 Anal Beads are designed to be inserted anally and slowly pulled out during orgasm to enhance the sensations or intensity of the orgasm, although you could use these alone just to enjoy anal stimulation. These anal beads are especially great for beginners but can be used by anyone, although they may end up being on the small side for advanced anal players.

When I used these anal beads I wasn't sure how I was going to like them, but I grabbed some lube and had at it. I gently inserted each bead until I felt it couldn't go any further, the last four beads were not inserted, and then waited a little while. I had a small vibrator handy to help give some clitoral stimulation for a while until I felt like I was going to orgasm and then I gingerly pulled out each bead. It definitely was something different and added to the orgasm, but I wouldn't say it was mind-blowing. I'll definitely have to try this more just to make sure I'm not missing out on something.

I haven't picked this up in a long time. I hate how hard it is to clean between the beads and I'm not liking the jelly material. I'm sure there are better anal beads out there.
