Ouchy little acorn
The design seems promising, but what you get in reality is a plug that pops out easily in spite of being difficult to insert. At 1.5" inches in diameter, this is not an ideal toy for beginners or those with sensitive anal tissues, nor is it convenient for long term wear. At least it's made of a high quality material!

Pros
Silicone, comfortable once inside
Cons
Difficult to insert due to thick head, base is cumbersome, pops out easily
I was super excited to try this plug endorsed by Tristan Taormino, the queen of anal sex. But I found it didn't work for me on many levels.
I've come to the conclusion that I simply don't like really silicone as a material for anal toys. It's has very little give and too much drag. It doesn't have the same glide as glass or metal, and you can't use it with silicone lubes which are ideal for anal. I have very sensitive anal tissues and it's just too easy for me to tear or irritate them when I use a material that has any resistance, even with lube. However, if you like silicone, this is very a high quality material that is scentless and tasteless, and easy to clean. Unfortunately it's also a bit of a lint magnet, and you'll want wash it before using.
The first time I tried using this was with a male partner who is very into anal. I spent about five minutes trying to insert it until he admitted it was painful and asked me to stop. He managed to get it in me the next day, but I definitely felt pretty damn sore afterwards.
The third time I used it was for solo play. My first butt plug was the Flirt, which has a great shape and is easy to insert, but a tendency to pop out easily. I was hoping the Tristan's acorn-shaped head would hold this one in place. This is not an easy plug to insert if you've got a delicate rosebud- the head is 1.5" in diameter, easily as thick as your average dildo. It is tapered at the tip, but getting the widest part in can be a bit challenging for me. Bear in mind this is the SMALLEST of the three Tristan plugs. These are not really beginner anal toys.
Once the head is inside, this is a fairly comfortable toy to wear, as the neck is relatively slender. At 3 1/2", it's not too long. The flared based curves in at the sides, supposedly to be more comfortable, but I found that it dug into my butt cheeks regardless. My main complaint is despite how difficult this is to insert, it pops out quite easily. It popped out while I was walking around wearing it. It popped out mid-orgasm. This is not a butt plug that is going to stay put.
I feel like conceptually this is a great plug, but in reality I won't be using it often. I'm sure it works great for other people, as it seems to be very popular.

Follow-up commentary

Tristan hangs out in my toy box a lot more than she gets played with. I guess I'm keeping it in the hopes that someday I'll have a lover that will enjoy it, because she doesn't do a damn thing for me.

Sorry that it didn't work out well for you.

I had the same problems. I solved the 'staying in place' problem with ropes- but not everyone is into shibari like myself. A simple tortoise shell tie kept it inside, but I agree, the flared curves dug into my cheeks and became very uncomfortable.

Looking for a butt plug that is similar to the Tristan that has a bit more staying in place power. | 6 |
