From him: This is the Billy, and if you've chosen to get him, first let me congratulate you. This toy is, as the name suggests, a wonderful prostate massager. However, the fun doesn't stop there, as the shape is well suited to working as a G-spot vibe as well. The powerful vibrator, plus the myriad of different intensities and modes make it highly functional in using on your clit, nipples, and anywhere else that titillates and stimulates you.

The Billy has a slightly flared base, done so with the intent of not letting it slip inside of you during anal play, but due to the small size of the handle, a more experienced anal user might not find this lip sufficient.

I'd recommend the Billy for any user that has found that he enjoys prostate stimulation through vibration. It also works well for couples, as She and I have found out, but there are already similarly shaped toys meant just for vaginal use.

From her: This is my first personal experience with a Lelo product (beyond the rave reviews I've heard from most of my acquaintances about their vaginal-oriented vibes such as Gigi), and I have not been disappointed. I'm not sure which I've enjoyed more - using this toy on my partner, or for myself. The shape is not quite right for a really intense G-spot vibe (as that isn't what it's intended for anyway) but the powerful vibrations and the functionality of the different settings make it a perfect all-around vaginal dildo / vibrator.

From him: Lelo does a wonderful job at picking out materials, and the Billy is no exception to the rule. The use end is coated in pure silicone, so you'll be able to completely sterilize it, allowing you to safely use it between partners (though we recommend using a condom or cover anyways, can't be too careful).

Texture wise, this is a very smooth toy. There isn't anything to add to, or detract from, the experience, just smooth, clean lines. The layer of silicone feels thin, as the toy is quite firm.

From her: There's really nothing like the velvety feeling of pure silicone. As he notes, the toy is pretty firm, so the smooth texture and the hardness of the material offer a wonderful contrast. The plastic of the handle is also quite smooth, with a sheen to it that reminds one of certain high-end electronic devices.

From him: Care went into the design of the Billy, and it shows. Everything about this toy performed great, the size is simple to insert, the shape guides it straight to the prostate.

There were, however, several things that didn't work too terribly well for me. To start, I would have liked a wider lip at the base, to make sure things don't get too lubed up, protection against slippage if you will. Something with a larger handle especially would help, as the little nub they provide isn't of much use when you're twisting around trying to guide the toy if you're using it solo. With a partner, it's much more manageable.

From her: As I've heard about other Lelo products, the small handle with the centrally located controls makes this toy a bit hard to use. In particular, I find it difficult to get a good grip on it when trying to use it on my partner anally, especially if I'm trying to apply any amount of pressure. However, because of the quality of its construction, I have no concerns about it breaking; rather, the only downside you might incur is accidentally switching up the particular vibration function you're using. Perhaps a 'lock' button might be nice in that regard - that is, a button you can slide, much like on an old iPod to ensure that the vibrations will not change until you slide that button again; the disparate style of the construction ensuring that you don't accidentally activate that control as well while gripping the handle of the Billy. (Currently, the 'lock' function is activated by pressing down the center button for a few seconds, but I've found that quite easy to accidentally re-activate.)

With its own charger and discreet, beautiful carrying case, the Billy is well-suited for travel. I also really liked the color - even though I tend to prefer black or naturally colored toys, the deep blue on this model is very classy.

From him: This toy works great. Looking past the trivial issues I listed earlier, when the Billy sinks into place, it already feels pretty good. With the addition of one little push of a button, the vibrations start, and it sails into 'amazing' territory. Because the actual motor for the vibrations is located directly in the bulb, the vibe transmits directly into whatever you place the tip on, without losing intensity from having to travel the length of the toy first. This has the added bonus of being quiet as well.

It has 5 different settings, and each of these can be customized with variations in the intensity, from a small whisper of a buzz, to a full on, intense revving of the proverbial engine.

The settings are as follows:
1) Constant, steady vibration
2) Slow pulse
3) Faster pulse
4) Fastest pulse
5) Ramp vibrations, where it starts off low, ramps up to high, and then dramatically cuts off, back to low.

Because the control pad dominates the handle, you can also lock in the setting of your choosing with holding the center of the button for a few seconds.

From her: I like to use the ramp vibrations in concert with slow thrusting (inward when it ramps it, outward when it cuts off) for a sustained tease, but really all of the functions are just wonderful. There is considerable difference between each vibration pattern and each level of intensity, which is not the case with all vibrators.

From him: There's several points to make about the Billy, because this is a toy you want to treat right, and keep around for a while.

Billy, while slightly splash-proof, is not waterproof. There's only a simple rubber stopper over the charging port, and you need to take care to keep it free of liquids. This means you cannot boil it, or put it in the dishwasher to clean it.

Because of that, if sterilizing, use a 10% bleach solution and gently wipe clean. You can also give it a wash with antibacterial hand soap, but don't trust this to be safe between partners.

The main use portion is silicone, so absolutely no silicone based lubricants. As always, we recommend a simple water based lube for almost all your needs.

The toy comes with both a custom box, and handy sleeve, both of which are good for storage.

From him: Lelo always goes strong in the packaging. The outermost box is almost totally black, one side showing Billy itself, but the other side simply has the LELO logo in silver letters on it, and standard material information on the smaller sides. Inside of this is a subtly striated, all black case for the toy constructed of a thick cardboard-type material - you could easily leave it sitting out somewhere, and no one would give it a second look. However, it does say 'LELO' in discreet letters, so if you have friends or family who are enthusiasts of the brand, they will probably be able to guess what's inside.

Opening it, there's a custom shaped foam insert to cradle Billy and the charger in separate compartments, along with several booklets, explaining the owners manual, warranty information, and a soft black drawstring bag in which to keep the toy, should you forgo the box.
