Sometimes I Get A Good Feeling

Overall, the Risque Intense is a wonderful little toy with only a few little points that could be improved. I recommend it to anyone looking for some new anal adventures without breaking the bank. If you don't have any cleaner around the house though I would definitely grab some as this thing is a finger print and lint magnet!

extremely useful review

The Risque Intense by Cal Exotics, is a wonderful new anal plug/probe. It is the "intense" version of the Risque. This toy is wonderful for anal use, but I caution total beginners to anal play to consider the original first as it is a little smaller and not as expensive. Ladies, I'm sure if you desired to you could insert this vaginally but I imagine that it is best for anal use. The base is perfect for anal play, as it won't slip inside.

Material / Texture

The Risque Intense is made of silicone, which rates at a wonderful 10 on the material safety scale. The picture below will tell you about all the perks and features of silicone.
Silicone Features

As seen in the picture, silicone in perfectly body safe. It has no odors or tastes and is not porous. It can be cleaned in several different ways.

The Risque Intense is somewhat more firm than I expected, but that is a plus for a vibrating anal probe. There is no texture to speak of herr but the bulge may cause some tensing in total beginners.

This particular toy isn't incredibly draggy, but for anal use you will want to use a good water based lube.
    • No odor
    • Not porous at all
    • Smooth

Design / Shape / Size

The design of the Risque intense is designed well overall.
In Hand
As you can see in the picture, it isn't an incredibly small toy. It's measurements are:

Insertable length:
3 1/2"
1 1/2"

It runs on 2 AAA batteries, which are not included!!. The battery compartment is in the base, and fairly easy to get to. It has a ribbon inside for easy battery removal.

Battery Compartment

The power button is located smack dab in the middle of the base, which comes in handy while laying down, but if you sit on a hard surface it may shut the toy off completely.
Power Button/Base View
Overall, it was a great fit, but the curved base detracted from the experience from me. It wasn't too bad, but the base is pretty firm and did tend to rub me the wrong way. You may be able to combat this with a little extra lube on the base, but I prefer to use as little as possible to keep messes to a minimum and also to lessen the likelihood of the toy slipping out. The Intense actually stayed in fairly well, which I noticed was a concern in the comments on the product page. I have other toys that are the same diameter with a longer neck that come right out, but the Intense took a little pull to get it out.

It's a fairly discreet toy, and I would imagine it would be okay to travel with, but the metal bits inside may alert the metal detectors.

The Risque Intense is a great vibrating anal plug/probe. It is a 10 function unit, and pretty easy to operate. To turn it on, you press the button once, and each button press after that switches to a different function.

The functions are as follows:

1. Low Vibration
2. Medium Vibration
3. High Vibration
4. Slow Pulse
5. Fast Pulse
6. Hyper Pulse
7. Long Vibe then break
8. Short Vibe then Break
9. Rumbly Vibe

And 10 was a little weird. It does 2 long pulses and then goes to short short long vibe pattern. I loved 10 the most, but the 2 long pulses at first make it hard to find sometimes.

The vibrations over all are pretty damn good, but sometimes it's hard to tell a difference while it's crammed in your ass. The inability to tell the difference in the functions is a minor flaw, but for someone else they may not be hard to distinguish at all.

This little guy is pretty quiet when laying down (or when off), but the minute you sit on something hard everyone in the room is going to be wanting to know whose phone is freaking out. I sat on the couch (while no one was home) with it in and it sounded like the couch was preparing for a sortie in Iraq.

It's simple to turn off; you just have to hold the power button down for a few seconds and it shuts right off.

Care and Maintenance

The Risque Intense is incredibly easy to care for. I keep it in a little jewelry bag I found laying around the house and throw it in one of my stash spots with some other toys that are too big for my drawer. Being silicone, this toy should only be used with water based lubes. Maximus is a great lube, but if you have a problem with parabens, I would give Sliquid Organics Gel a try. It is entirely organic so no one should have a reaction to it!

To clean the Intense, I would recommend using a good toy cleaner Cleaners: Take Your Pick. Eden has plenty of toy cleaning options, so have no fears. You could also use Isopropyl Alcohol solution to clean it, but I wouldn't throw this toy in boiling water or the dishwasher because it does have electrical components, even if it is waterproof.

One thing to note: This is a lint magnet!!
    • Easy to clean
    • Easy to store

The packaging here is just your basic plastic box. Clear with writing all over it, and completely recyclable. Inside the box is a holder that keeps the toy centered in the "viewing window"; these pieces of plastic are also recyclable. The instructions included with this toy just explained how to insert the batteries (but it is a generic instruction sheet, and doesn't actually show how to insert the batteries into this toy). The packaging here isn't worth saving. It's flimsy and not very discreet.

Follow-up commentary
I've come to accept that the base isn't perfect for me, but overall it is still a pretty good little toy. I love that it relaxes things for bigger toy insertion, and the batteries are a common type so I don't ever have to worry about it dying.

If you are looking for a new addition to your toy box, please consider giving the Risque Intense a shot!

LOL @ the couch prepping for sorties in Iraq. "What's the noise coming from the couch?" Oh, it's on ground alert.
