A toy best used for those moderately experienced in the art of anal, this toy is quite sizeable in girth and length, and packs a playful punch. After a bit of slipping around, its moderately-sized tip can be inserted and the bulb is gradually reached, giving a full feeling. The diminishing size after the bulb helps keep the plug in place, allowing for hands free play.

Recommended for male or female anal play. Thrusting can be achieved, though certainly not the entire length, as it is flimsy near the base, and the nub near that can be painful if suddenly thrust inside the delicate anus.

This is really a nice looking toy. It is rather abstract in its not-overly-phallic, semi-bulbous shape, shiny surface, classy, neutral color, and bears the well-loved silicone material. It is easy to clean, safe to be used internally without a condom (unless of course you are sharing with another partner or switching between vaginal and anal penetration), easy to take care of and store. It has no smell and is smooth on all surfaces. The bulbous shaft is rather prominent, lending to variety and excitement.

It can stand up on its own which is handy when storing quickly on a bedside table or floor, upright, or until sex play is over. It can be taken to a sink and cleaned with light soap and plenty of water.

The pliable silicone adds a more lifelike feel and is gentle on your most sensitive areas.

The design of the toy is rather aesthetically pleasing and the shape adds to its use as an anal stimulator. However, the size would not be recommended for beginners to anal play. It is as large in girth as standard sized dildos at the most bulbous point of the head. Also, its length, at 6.5 insertable inches, is alot for ass-newbs. Size and girth take on a whole new meaning when applied to that tight, super sensitive spot.

The Dipper is also a bit difficult to insert as it does not stand up against gravity when lying vertically, and the end is not tapered to a small point.

Not recommended for strap-on use as the slim neck and heavy head make it very floppy. It would need to be guided in and out very slowly and carefully and is not recommended for wild thrusting. However, guided by the base as a handle, it can be easily maneuvered solo or by a partner in and out of vagina or anus.


I bought this hoping to introduce my boyfriend to anal play, and found it used on me anally as a substitute for his penis during vaginal sex; it was simply too large for him to even begin to undertake as a beginner.

For what it is marketed as -- an butt plug -- I found The Dipper performing well to a certain point, literally. Inserted until the first nub it was comfortable enough, however, if attempted to push farther or accidentally pushed past the nub, I found it quite painful. I'm unsure if this was simply my body's inability to take something that deep into the anus or the design of the toy, so take this experience with a grain of salt.

First off, never EVER user silicone lube with silicone toys! They will melt into a little blob.
That being said, this toy is great because its silicone material makes it unnecessary to use a condom with it (unless of course you are sharing it with others or switching between vaginal and anal penetration).
It is also easy to clean and doesn't offgas, producing a chemical smell like some other toys of jelly or rubber.

Simply stand it upright using the sturdy base, keeping the majority of the toy off of potentially dirty surfaces until you are finished with your sex play. Then use a small amount of soap and water to wash it clean. Be sure to rinse well, as soap and sensitive areas do NOT mix.

Store in the original plastic container or another non-fabric container. Store it away from other silicone toys, in a dark and relatively cool space.


Water based lube is highly recommended, especially when using toys for anal play. Without lube, you risk tearing and damage of the anus.

The package can be used as a storage box. Packaging and instructions were minimal.

This anal toy gets a permanent spot in our toy chest, to be used time and time again. We find it incredible to put in my ass while he gets inside me (and my vibrator works on my clitoris). He can feel it through my vaginal wall, and it stimulates his penis while filling me up from all angles. It makes his penis feel larger to me, and keeps my anus primed, open and ready for when he decides to go there himself.
As long as we don't go doggy style, when the plug can push too deep, it is a pleasurable experience.

Keep in mind that this toy also carries a fair amount of weight -- I'd say at least 1.5 pounds (though it says 8 oz on the profile.... might want Doc Johnson to re-check that). With that in your ass, and the last couple inches of it sticking out, be prepared to feel it and not sit around at your desk with it in unless the nub near the base doesn't bother you. In which case kudos to you, bearer of ass of steel!

Once again, definitely not something I'd recommend for newbies to anal, but fun for anyone who's experimented with it. It can also certainly be used vaginally, though there are better toys out there for that purpose.
