Enspiral anal toy - probe discontinued by Doc Johnson - review by ~LaUr3n~

I always thought the swirl shape of anal toys looked so interesting and yummy. I was dying to try it and was thrilled when I found one that wouldn't be a bust on the budget if it didn't end up working out for me. I'm glad I did this since, the design of the toy didn't end up working the best for me. I couldn't take advantage of the entire length, due to design flaws in my opinion. It did feel pretty good for what I did get to use it for though. I recommend this toy to expert anal players or intermediate players wanting a different type or sensation. If you can't take this anally, it doesn't do so bad vaginally either. The flared base makes it safe for deep play and possible for use with a harness if you have the ring o-ring size.

Unfortunately, the Enspiral probe is made of firm rubber. It is not the safest material since it is porous and sharing needs to be facilitated by a condom. I also recommend a condom on this toy regardless for anal play. Doc Johnson has updated there rubber and sil-a-gel formulas on many of their toys, but this one does not bare the sticker advertising the new upgrade. The rubber is firm, but has a little give and the probe does bend although not very far.

The Ensprial does have the classic Doc Johnson smell of berries. It is strong and sticks to anything it touches. You need to wash your hands after handling this toy. The toy also collects a lot of dust and lint, so it should be rinsed before use as well as washed after play.

The Enspiral probe has two different textures in its design and isn't very discreet. The first 4" of insertable length are a swirled cone. The max diameter of this part is 4 1/2" in circumference. The tip of the toy is kind of pointy and might be uncomfortable for some during insertion or thrusting if things go rogue. After the swirled top part that is shaped like a butt plug, it drops off to a slightly skinnier shaft with deep ribbing. This part is 3" long making the toy have about 7" of insertable length. The thickest part of the shaft is just over 3" around. The base is flared and can be used with an o-ring if you have one 3" in circumference. This is relatively small and might not be compatible with all harnesses.

Going in wasn't the most pleasant experience getting past the first two sphincters. The tip is a bit too pointy. Because of this, I didn't want to thrust the toy much. But, then there was another problem. I found that the toy was too stiff to insert fully, probably also due to the tip. So I could insert it just past the base of the tear drop and then preferred to leave it there for twisting which felt great! But, it isn't a toy you can really have sex while in since, for me, the base would stick out a lot.

Vaginally, it was a lot of fun also. The swirly and ribs felt great and the rigidness didn't cause any problems, neither did the pointy tip. So, if this doesn't work for you anally (and you are a woman), it might work for you vaginally. I didn't use this with a harness although it is possible. After using it anally and vaginally, I don't think I'd ever want to put a partner through the Enspiral with strap on penetration. It really is a toy that you will want to navigate yourself.

The material is extremely porous and needs to be cleaned with soap and warm water thoroughly. Make sure to pay close attention to the swirls and ribs when you are cleaning since gunk can get caught there. The rubber can have its life prolonged if you use a condom, this will also make cleaning easier. When using the Enspiral, I recommend using a good anal lubricant. It can be water or silicone based. When storing, it needs to be kept away from all other toys. Putting it back in the simple plastic case it comes in works just fine.

Just a simple square shaped snap to close plastic case. There is barely any information on the package at all. There is a cardboard insert with a half naked female on it that can be removed if you want to throw it out. It does work well for storage though.

I was kind of conflicted as to what I should rate the Enspiral. I was floating between a 2 and a 3 and have decided on a two. The top felt great once in but the pokey top wasn't pleasurable. It worked well vaginally, but this isn't the main purpose of the toy. The rubber material also isn't the greatest and the smell is way too strong. If you like a little (or a lot) of pain with your pleasure, you might like this even more than I did. Otherwise, if you are just curious about the shape like I was, this is also a decent buy for the cheap price.
