The Lux LX-3 is a vibrating prostate massager. It can be worn for masturbation, during sex and even longer-term wear, if you so choose. It is meant to be inserted and left there, but you (or better yet your partner) could manipulate it with the handle as well. That's not necessary though. As intended, you can manipulate the internal arm by flexing your PC muscles and rotating/thrusting your hips.

I have several prostate massagers and anal toys that I love to wear during sex or masturbation. This one, like many others, is designed to vibrate while stimulating the prostate and perineum. It also applies a steady pressure and provides some feeling of fullness. Since it is waterproof, it can, of course, be used in the shower for some wet 'n wild play. Some may enjoy sitting with it inserted and moving your hips about for more intense stimulation. It could be used for long relaxation sessions like an Aneros toy as well.

The perineum arm serves several purposes: To stimulate the perineum and for safe anal insertion. It can also provide a fulcrum for which the insertable arm and move on its own, with your PC muscle contractions.

Though designed for a man, women could certainly use the LX-3 as well for anal or vaginal sensations. The perineum tab might offer dual (clit/G-spot) stimulation, depending on the individual female's anatomy.

The LX-3 material is non-porous silicone on the outside and hard ABS plastic inside the bulb part. It is firm, other than the perineum stimulator, which flexes and is slightly pliable. The texture is matte and smooth and works best with water-based lubes. It is not recommended by EF to use silicone lubes with silicone toys, as it can degrade the material. You can always do a spot-test if you insist on silicone lube though, as others have attested it works OK with some silicone lubes.

This particular silicone is a bit of a lint & dust collector. Not quite as good as Lelo's, but better than Fun Factory in my experience. Not bad overall though.

There is a minor rubbery odor from the toy if you hold it right up to your nose and it it not realistic looking. I think it has some potential to hold body odors, but this can be cured with a thorough cleaning or soaking in 10% bleach solution. The workmanship is top notch. I did not taste it.

The LX-3 comes in one color, Black, but does offer 2 sizes (the sister LX-3 Plus, which is a bit larger in girth/size. The toy is 4.5" long, with 3.25" being insertable. The widest point of the insertable head is 1" wide (3.75" circumference). This is an ideal size for me and probably most beginners to average users. Size queens will want to go with the LX-3 plus, which is 1.5" wide for a fuller feeling.

The look is kinda whimsical and purposeful. It is good for travel. This could easily be stowed in some clothing or socks, within your packed luggage. I'd say it is smaller than it appears in photos and close to an idea size/weight.

The LX-3 lived up to expectations. I was a little wary from reading other reviews about the vibrator being in the perineum end, which I agree is ludicrous, but it still is very pleasurable. Insertion is easy, with some water-based lube and the head of the LX-3 rests nicely against the prostate. It's very comfortable to wear during longer durations. The vibrations are about 3.5 vrooms, which may disappoint some. Personally, I find non-vibrating toys pleasurable and the LX-3 offers that and the option to have vibrations. The vibrations are also whisper-quiet. You can feel it inside and out, but it is barely audible, even at the highest setting(while inserted). You could easily wear this in public and not draw attention, it's that quiet, so great for roommate situations or thin walls, if you are worried about being heard. I'd say you could wear this in a public shower and not draw attention even.

This toy is very pleasurable in a subtle, slow-building kind of way. The vibrations are not super powerful, but they give a nice, quiet, buzzy massage that relaxes your ass. You feel the vibrations on your sphincter and anus, but when you clench your muscles, it squeezes the bulb against your prostate and (by chance or design?) the vibrations magically transmit themselves up the shaft into the bulb and onto your prostate. This is actually kinda cool, because too much vibration can dull your prostate sensations. This way you can kinda control when and where you feel the vibrations by alternately relaxing and contracting.

Laying back and getting a blowjob, while tensing and relaxing your PC muscles brings a whole new sensation of pleasure and stimulation of multiple erogenous zones to an everyday BJ. As for the basics, the LX-3 stays put securely, while inserted. It's a big taper ratio, so there is no chance of this falling out during play. It is way more comfortable than a butt plug and way more pleasurable too (I'm comparing in my head to the Njoy pure medium and Fun Factory Bootie). The LX-3 is also waterproof, so I look forward to wearing in the shower (maybe a public one even!). This is a toy you could lay back and enjoy an extended session with easily, but also works for quickies. I can imagine getting a full body massage, while wearing this. It helps to create a long, slow-building intense orgasm.

Now my favorite toy, The Love Handle, is off the charts on the Richter scale for orgasms and may not be able to be beaten, but this falls in pretty close behind. They are similarly shaped and designed, but still uniquely different in many ways (materials, rechargeable, vrooms, length, size, price). The LX-3 has less movement internally, is less rigid, quieter, rechargeable, shorter, less powerful and 3x the price of the Love Handle (aka: Get a Grip).

Anyway, I'd rate his a 4.5 out of 5. Knock a half point for not putting a motor in the insertable portion.

The LX-3 is rechargeable, so there is no need to replace batteries. It is not a memory-based lithium battery too, so there is no need to let it fully run down before charging.

You can wash with hot soap and water, with a 10% bleach solution or antibacterial wipes/cleaners. I usually wipe with an Edenfantasys wipe, before heading to the bathroom for a more complete cleaning.

It is not recommended to use silicone lubricant with silicone toys of course, because it can degrade the material. You can however do a spot test at your own risk.

You can store in the box, a Ziploc baggie or in a pouch to keep the LX-3 clean and dust-free. It's always a good idea to wash before insertion anyway.

It is waterproof, so you don't have to use extra care washing in the sink and you can take it in the shower with you.

Lux has very nice packaging and LX-3 is no different. It comes in a nice black case with the Lux log on it and the LX-3 rests securely inside within a cutout. It looks very classy and is a convenient storage solution. If left on the bedside table, it wouldn't be obvious what is inside, unless someone knew the Lux brand already.

The box is a nice black cardboard box with the Lux logo imprinted in an understated way, almost as if it were a small cigar gift box. Inside with the LX-3 there is a an instruction pamphlet and catalog. It looks very classy and is a convenient storage solution.

The box was sealed in plastic wrap and also had a paper seal on the lid, showing it was not tampered with. Inside is a compartment for the charger as well. It included a big instruction booklet in many languages and paper with all the Lux line toys for men shown on it.

My absolute favorite Prostate toy/vibrator is the Love Handle and thus my benchmark for reviews. The LX-3 is almost as good, but not quite. It is a close 2nd though and I will continue to use it regularly and perhaps for different needs, as it's smaller size has some advantages and it is quieter too.

It is maybe the most comfortable prostate massager I have used.

It is actually so quiet, my partner didn't notice I had it on right away.

I really enjoy it and always am finding myself looking forward to using it again.

As a butt plug it is great and I think more women ought to be checking it out too. It might work for DP, if inserted backwards.

The only problem with this toy, is the vibrator is on the perineum arm and not on the prostate massager part. I knew this prior to purchasing, so no surprise. The vibrations do travel all the way up, but not as strongly. I do find it to be a unique sensation, as I touch upon in the performance section.

The LX-3 is simple to use. There is one button. It turns it on, adjusts the intensity by holding down the button, and turns it off. The button glows red, when turned on or charging. To turn off the toy, just touch the button once, which his helpful if you need to suddenly shut down.

It can be a little tricky and messy to find the button while inserted, but that is a minor complaint. Once you get used to it, you know where the button is. It takes 90-120 min to charge and gives about 1 hour to 90 min of playtime I'd guess. I've used it about 3 times (maybe 60 min total time) and have not had to recharge it yet.
