If you're in need of restraining but don't want to give up your fashion senses, Aslan has you covered. The Pink Candy Jaguar Cuffs are leather cuffs that can be used in any number of ways for restraint. Since they don't come bound together like a handcuff set does, you can use them with another restraint system or tie them together with your choice of material. You can even just wear these out to the club, what with the lovely hot pink and white color scheme. If I didn't work at such a conservative place, I may very well wear these every day.

The Pink Candy set will work well for any fan of bondage that is sick of everything coming in black or red all the time. Yes, black is sexy and is the perfect color for bondage. But everything has its limits and sometimes you just need some color in your life. If you don't like pink, there's also a blue version.

This set can be used by both beginners and advanced users, but I would tend to think of these as more intermediate to advanced user cuffs. It's not that these are difficult to use (they aren't). It's just that because the cost of these is higher my recommendation on any type of BDSM product tends to be to try something in the less than $20 range first to see if you like it before jumping on board with the more expensive gear. If you like the $10 cuffs, then upgrade. These also have a locking feature on them that advanced users will appreciate.

As with any BDSM item, make sure you have a safe word in place before you start to play. Safety is a key part of making BDSM enjoyable for everyone and one bad time is all it takes to ruin it forever.

Aslan is a Canadian company that specializes in leather BDSM goods. They are known for their high quality leather and vegan alternative items. My disclaimer on any of my opinions on the quality is that I'm a vegetarian and as such don't have an overabundance of leather items in my home. I can only compare these to the items that I have or have had in the past.

There are three layers of material on these cuffs. The inside layer that touches the skin is actually made of Aslan's vegan leather. Perhaps this is a softer material and thus why it was picked to line the inside of the cuff. The vegan leather lining is white. I honestly did not realize this was a vegan material until I read that it was while researching it for this review. It has the same texture, to my untrained eye, as regular leather does. It crinkles up a little more than the other layers, but I had assumed this was because it was the internal layer and had the most pressure on it. It has a little bit of a plush feel, but do not mistake this for a plush lining like you would find in cuffs that are lined with cloth or something fuzzy. This still has a distinct hard feel to it. You will know you are wearing a leather cuff when you wear these. The slight plush to the inside layer does add some comfort when wearing for extended periods.



The second layer is the hot pink one. This is real leather. The stitching is done in a contrasting white color and not one stitch is out of place. The leather is soft to the touch, though I do recall that I have felt one leather jacket softer. Still, one thing softer still means this is pretty soft. As best as I can tell, this is very high quality leather.

The third layer is also white. This is the layer that is used to adjust the size of the cuff. It has the cut outs and the nickle plated buckle and D ring on it. It also has nickel plated circular accents on it. The leather on this seems a little more high shine than the other two layers and is not as plushy. It has a smoother finish and doesn't have the crinkled look that leather seems to get. This, too, seems to be very high quality.

When these arrived, they smelled like new leather. Sometimes the smell of leather gets to me and sometimes I like it. Luckily, I was in the mood for the smell when these arrived and I found the smell to be wonderful. I could smell it as soon as I opened the package without having to bring them to my nose. Now, after having these for a while, I have to hold them to my nose to smell it.

The total length is 12 inches from the tip to end. The pink part of the cuff that goes around the wrist is 8.5 inches. The pink leather is 2 inches wide. The small top leather section is 1 inch wide. There are six slots for adjustment in size. From the reviews I have read, the suggested wrist size is 6"-9" (or small ankles). My wrists are actually only 5.5" around and I fit these fine. I am unable to get out of them and they are comfortable to wear. I wear them adjusted to the 4th adjustable cut out, which is the last one that I can actually get the buckle to reach to.





When I first got these, the leather was very stiff and I could not get it to fit me easily. Over the course of about a month, they have worn in nicely and it is now not nearly as difficult to get these on the smallest setting. The first use seemed it seemed to be quite the process to get these on. If you don't have baby doll wrists like I do, you probably won't have quite as much trouble, but do expect that they will be stiff.

These should fit a range of users. In fact, since they fit me it would seem they fit outside the range that is given for them. I know my wrists are no where near average, but these should work well for people who have wrists of average size. They should also adjust nicely to those who have larger than average wrists.

These cuffs have a locking feature, which I'm talking about in this section since I was running over in the last section. At the buckle, instead of a straight pin, there is a little loop. You can insert a lock in this loop and the wearer of the cuffs will not be able to remove the cuffs without a key. One of the things that metal handcuffs have always provided over material ones was the locking feature. With these, you get the versatility of material cuffs with the locking ability of metal ones. For advanced or intermediate BDSM users, this is a major bonus. My husband and I both really loved the addition of this feature. I felt much more submissive in these than I would have had I known I could have just undone them at any point.





To use the cuffs, you have many options. We have mostly use these by securing them in the middle with a lock. I would not recommend this use to beginners, since it involves, well, locking. You could use pretty much any material you can tie with these - silk, rope, etc. You could also attach these to any restraint kit that has removable cuffs to upgrade the restraint kit. We also use these with a restraint bar. Since they aren't self attached, you're limited only by imagination. Here's our lock set up:



I was concerned about these being uncomfortable to wear, but these didn't bother me at all and I have pretty sensitive skin. The look and quality of these is amazing. I wasn't sure what to expect as this was my first Aslan purchase. I was blown away. These perform wonderfully for BDSM. I don't feel like I'm going to rip them like I do with more flimsy material cuffs. I feel more bound and restrained than I have with other cuffs.

As an added bonus, these make a great accessory because of the vibrant colors. If you're like me and have a lot of hot pink in your wardrobe, these are a must have just as a fashion item.

Since these are leather, you'll want to take special care with them. The white color can get dirty and you may want to clean it from time to time, so it's best to know how to do it properly. Aslan provides a tag that includes all the details on leather care with these. You should never submerge leather in water. This could ruin the material.

To wash, you can either use a moist cloth and dish soap or a leather cleaner. Make sure that you wipe it dry right after, taking special care around the creases.

Aslan also gives the suggestion that you can protect the metal by applying a clear coat of nail polish.

There is no real packaging. These come secured together so it looks like one cuff. It threw me off at first, but I'm dingy and do stuff like that. So if it looks like you only have one, flip it around.



I wish this would have come with some type of baggie to store them in. The white does get dirty and it would be nice to have somewhere to keep them.

There are no instructions for use, but it does come with care instructions.

I would recommend these to anyone who has tried bondage with cuffs and is looking for something high quality but also wants something that isn't your typical black. As far as my eye can tell, the quality on these is superb. They aren't as comfortable as something with a fuzzy lining, but they are comfortable to wear. The added locking features are great for advanced users. If you aren't there yet, it's nice to have them so that they can grow with you. The fact that these can be used in so many ways means we aren't having to switch cuffs out multiple times a night.

If you haven't ever tried a pair of cuffs, get a cheap pair and see how you like them first. You don't have to take my advice, but my general rule of thumb is that it's better to waste $10 than $60. If you can't find any cuffs you like that are really cheap, then maybe get these.

I'd been wanting to upgrade cuffs for the longest time. We have all sorts that have one problem or another. The metal ones have the locking feature, but tend to hurt my skin. The material ones don't hurt me, but don't make me feel very bound. None of them appealed to my personal fashion sense. I saw these, and I knew they were the ones for me. I was right. These are my perfect pair of cuffs. They are versatile in how you can use them, comfortable enough for me to wear for extended periods, binding enough to keep me in the mindset, and pretty enough to keep my interest.

While trying to think of something to say for a con, the only possible thing I could think of is that they are stiff when you first get them. The first two uses were not as fun as the rest of them have been. Getting them on those first few times really was a process, especially since we were trying to get this at such a low notch setting. They did break in fast, so it's not even that big of a con.

These are the best cuffs I have ever owned. If ever I get the chance, I will wear these out somewhere as well because I love the way they look in general. They match my personality. Kinky and girly, that's me.
