Leather leash and collar - collar by Sportsheets - review by gsfanatic

I bought this set as a first leash and collar set; I was reasonably pleased with my purchase. I liked the collar far more than the leash.

The collar was superb, both comfortable and adjustable to a number of sizes. The inside is lined with a soft fake fur, which is comfortable and practical, as it saves issues if someone has allergies or ethical objections to real fur. The outside is leather with metal studs, which gives it a great pet look. The combination is nice because it looks right, but doesn't have any discomfort. About the only problem we had was that it was too comfortable, and my girlfriend almost left wearing it, since she forgot it was on. There are 5 nicely spaced size settings, so it'll fit around at least small to average necks reasonably snug without being suffocating. Since it fits reasonably tight, you can easily wear it with jewelry or under a scarf if you want to be more daring.

Sadly, the leash was nowhere near as good as the collar. It felt chintzy and stiff. It didn't have the amount of flexibility that I wanted. Sadly, a cheap leash from a pet store would probably be a better purchase, though you may not wish to mention where you got it from. It's possible that with some working the leash will loosen, but after a few days of playing with it, that doesn't seem to be the case sadly.

Overall, it came down to the fact that I got the set for a reasonable price, which made it a major plus. Sure, the leash is a take it or leave it, but the collar more than made up for that fact. I'd strongly recommend buying it and giving it a try. I converted my girlfriend from being skeptical about the whole idea to a huge fan within 30 minutes.

This is worth it - the collar looks amazing, and my sub wears it with pride. The leash still isn't great, but it can be useful if you don't have an alternative.
