Love cuffs - handcuffs discontinued by NMC Ltd - review by Allison.Wilder

The Love Cuffs by NMC Ltd are intended to be a great way to dip your toes into the bondage pool. They are a light restraint and are self-releasing so you can remove yourself from them easily. These cuffs can be used by men and women that are either advanced users or beginners. They are best used as an occasional aid to spice things up with your partner.

I'm not well-versed in toys such as these but upon taking these out of the box, I could tell that these were nothing special. They're standard self-releasing metal cuffs with a removable, pink, faux fur covering. The cuffs themselves are sturdy metal, with a decent metal chain connecting them and holding the keys. These are not the type of toy that's going to last a really long time before it falls apart.

They open and close with the metal tab along the side of the cuffs and click closed the same way. They adjust to fit smaller wrists the more you push the cuffs in.

These cuffs are decent in size and fit comfortably on me, but would not click shut on someone with larger wrist so they're not a one size fits all type of item. The keys serve no purpose besides an accessory since these are self-releasing cuffs. They're also actually much heavier than I had expected and with that weight comes a little extra on your wrists.

There is absolutely no scent to the metal or the faux fur on these cuffs and there is no taste to the metal of the cuffs.

After wearing these cuffs for a short time, I realized that while they fit, they were starting to get uncomfortable. The metal started to rub along the bones of my inner wrist causing real discomfort. Other than that minor issue, these cuffs work exactly the way they're supposed to. The keys unlock the cuffs, but if you ever go to unlock them with the key rather than the self-releasing tab, I'd be surprised. The self-release tab is easy to press and the cuffs come off just as easily as they go on.

For someone with small ankles, these cuffs could be used as ankle restraints. I couldn't test that because I couldn't get them to snap closed around my ankles.

To care for the faux fur covering for these cuffs, simply hand or machine wash with cold water and let them air dry. Never put faux fur in a dryer because it will shrink and fray.

To care for the metal cuffs (with the faux fur covering removed) simply soak them in a 10% bleach solution, put them on the top rack of the dishwasher, boil them for three minutes or wash with antibacterial soap and hot water.

Once the cuffs have dried and the fur cover has dried, put the covering back on and store anywhere you store toys. They come in a cardboard box that I keep mine in, but as long as you keep the fur away from silicone toys, you shouldn't have a problem just putting them anywhere.

The Love Cuffs are packaged in a slim, black box with a lot of sexual things written on it. It's not discreet because it also states in large, red font that these are 'Da Cuffs.' There are no user instructions orr care/maintenance instructions included with this package.

Because these cuffs are made of metal, if you have allergies to metal you should steer clear of these cuffs.

These cuffs do exactly what they're supposed to do. I was able to use them with my partner in multiple settings. For the most part they were comfortable, but with extended use, they do become uncomfortable. We won't be using these often, but every once in a while they're great for some variety. I wish the fur covering didn't move once these cuffs were clicked into place, but it does and that's the only reason I don't absolutely love these cuffs.
