Love cuffs by NMC Ltd - review by puppylove

Handcuffs are something we have an abundance of in our household, not because we use them all the time for bondage play, but because hubby is in law enforcement and it's part of the uniform. I have always been fascinated with handcuffs, I've never been placed in cuffs for being on the wrong side of the law, but I find the click of the metal teeth and the heavy cold steel such a turn on. I like them so much that a few years ago hubby even got me my own pair of pink law enforcement cuffs and I keep the key to them on my key ring at all times to this day, which by the way can make getting through security for jury duty a bit of a pain, no cuff keys at the court house if you aren't wearing a badge. When this pink fuzzy pair was offered up as a free gift I just had to have! I love all things pink, and they were cuffs, it was like they were made for me.

These cuffs much lighter than standard law enforcement cuffs and feature a safety release for those who may find being placed in cuffs intimidating, or are just starting to experiment with restraint. These are going to be useful for users of all experience levels, even beginners who are new to bondage play. You can use them in role play, use them to restrain your partners hands during foreplay or sex, or use them to bind your partner to a stationary object. These will work in a wide variety of situations, they won't work however if your partner does not want to stay bound, as the restrained can easily un-cuff themselves via the safety tab, or for those with larger wrist as they just won't fit.

These pink fuzzy Love Cuffs are definitely a toy, as they are not strong enough or sturdy enough to be used as the real deal. I have quite a few pairs of real police handcuffs on hand to compare them to, first off right away I noticed that they were much thinner and lighter than the real ones. The metal Love Cuffs weigh in at 6.8 ounces while the two sets of real cuffs I have included in the pictures weigh in at 9.8 ounces and 12.6 ounces.

Overall the set is 11 inches long from cuff to cuff. While I have been able to use regular cuffs on my partner, I cannot use these on him, they won't fit around his wrist. The Love Cuffs fit a size range from between 5.5 to 7.5 inches of wrist circumference. I also imagine that the cuffs would become quite uncomfortable towards top of the size range. But I wouldn't exactly call these comfortable in the first place, they are metal cuffs, part of the appeal to cuffs for me are that they are heavy and restricting, even a tinge bit painful at times. All of that combined is a turn on for me.

Don't let the fuzzy faux fur covering fool you, they are not going to be as comfortable as wearing fabric or leather cuffs, and in no way are they padded. Each pink fuzzy covering is 9 inches long and for the most part will cover a majority of the cuff, it can however bunch up during use. It also sheds pink fuzz, which it started doing right away, even before washing.

The cuffs are linked together by 3 metal links, there are 3 inches of links between the two cuffs. The links are not welding together like standard law enforcement cuffs, if someone was struggling against these hard enough the links may bend open and come apart. As cops would not be too happy with this happening, there is no gaps in the links of the real handcuffs.

These cuffs are fitted with safety releases on both cuffs, in case of an emergency, to open up the cuff all you have to do is press the safety release and they will spring open. You won't find that on real cuffs! If you don't want to take the easy way out, the cuffs can be unlocked with either of the two included skeleton keys that come attached to the set. There are key holes on each cuff. I love how cute the keys are that came with this set, so much so that I wanted to use them with my real ones, but they don't fit in law enforcement cuffs, they are too large.

For play these are great, they are light enough to wear for long periods of time, and they feature a safety release just in case something happens so that you need to escape or release your partner quickly, no fumbling with tiny little keys. The down side, they won't hold up to heavy play, nor will they fit every user.

The Love Cuffs are made from two materials, metal and faux fur. If you need to clean them separate the fur covers from the cuffs, the metal can be wiped down with a 10 % bleach solution, boiled, washed in the dishwasher, or with simple soap and water. I would caution to dry the cuffs thoroughly after cleaning to prevent any rusting. The faux fur are machine washable in cold water, then hang to dry, never put them in the dryer. The pink fuzz could start shedding pink bits after wash and may not be as soft and fluffy after a few washes.

The Love Cuffs came in a black cardboard box with various saying printed all over it. I would not call the packaging discreet in the least bit, but it could make for a cute bachelorette party gift.
