I am busily building my collection of mild,non-threatening floggers, whips and paddles. What could be less threatening than a flogger of satin (polyester) ribbons? Not much!
The flogger; yes, even though this is called a satin pleasure whip it is actually a flogger, is a lovely piece to top off a sexy costume. I, honestly, didn't think it was good for much else until we started using it and I discovered that this little sucker can HURT!

The wrist strap is made of a heavy grade polyester satin ribbon shiny side out, firmly attached to the satin that covers the wooden dowel handle. It measures just over 6 inches which makes it a bit long but it does look pretty when hung up. During flogging it tends to flip up over my hand making it worthless if I should lose my grip on the handle.
Thankfully the handle is big enough that it doesn't cause hand fatigue and the satin absorbs sweat meaning it won't slip and slide in your grip. The ends of the handle wrapping are covered with a satin ribbon studded into place with silver metallic studs. On my flogger the studs were dirty and tarnished when it arrived. A few minutes with some silver cleaner shined them up a treat restoring the shine and brilliance. The piece of leather-like material that covers the top of the handle arrived coated with dust but a quick washing with a damp cotton ball took care of that problem. I added just a tiny bit of leather conditioner to be sure the water was gone and it was sealed.

The wooden dowel and ribbon wrap is covered with a beautiful red satin crisscrossed with black satin ribbon the same width as the falls. This creates a lovely lattice work handle that feels soft and amazing in the palm. The handle measures approximately 3 inches in circumference and feels substantial for a woman's hand. Sigel says it's not bad but he prefers a larger handle for his larger hand. The length of the handle is around 6.5 inches long which allows for good heft and swing. The entire flogger weighs in at about a half a pound meaning you won't get wrist fatigue for a good long time.
There are 26 satin ribbon falls on my flogger, and each one is 3/4 inch wide. The ends are not finished and I have seen some raveling on the ends of some of the falls so I don't expect this to last long with vigorous use. Still this really isn't meant to be used by professionals or devotees, it's more for decoration or mild usage.
The falls were just a bit curled from shipping but I left the flogger in the bathroom for a few days and the steam from the shower helped to uncurl the ribbon. You can run a warm steam iron over the falls if they are seriously curled or creased.
Protect your satin beauty from bodily fluids as it is hard to simply wipe clean. This is a great warm up toy but can leave a pretty nasty welt if extreme force is applied. The falls are fairly short which makes them manageable for new players still learning to control the placement of the falls during play. Do take a few swipes on your leg or back to get a feel for how much force to use as this toy looks deceptively sweet. I managed to get a real nasty welt from just goofing around, just a gentle warning!

Stroked over the skin this toy feels luxurious and cool, like good satin is supposed to feel. It warms up with impact and can cover an exposed bum with a lovely blush fairly quickly.
We have used this for flogging inner thighs, breasts, upper shoulders and of course buttocks. I would avoid using this to flog genitals as the fluids could harm the toy. It is polyester and not true satin so it wouldn't be a total ruin. Still, I'll leave it up to you!

We were giggling when I pulled this out and swung it a few times. I handed it to Sigel and he asked if he needed to govern his strike. I was arrogant and said, "How hard could it hit?" Holy cow did I yelp when he brought that down on my thigh. It left a deep red welt on my skin and Sigel felt I had learned my lesson! Next time I'll try out the darn thing before bragging.

I have not had problems with the metal brads retarnishing after I initialy cleaned them up. There is no signs of raveling from the ribbons even after repeated use and the handle where the ribbons are decoratively braided still looks brand new.
