Dual lock handcuffs by Spartacus - review by ShadowKitten

Before I get on with this review, I need to make something incredibly clear with you, the reader. These cuffs are essentially the same kind police use on criminals or the army uses on people that resist arrest and they are NOT to be taken lightly, and I do not recommend using them alone without a spotter available to come to your aid if you do.

On to the review, the best use of this product? Well, it only has one real purpose, to keep you or someone else pretty well restrained!

This is NOT a beginner's toy, in my opinion, and is more suited to experienced kinksters and vanilla folk alike, so please don't think that these are the safety cuffs you see at your local sex shop. These are the closest cuffs you'll find, as far as I know on this site, that compare to police issue handcuffs.

These Dual Locking Handcuffs are very well made, very pretty, and will last for years if you treat them right. The cuffs are 'painted' black, but honestly from what I can tell, they won't chip unless you're extremely rough with them or have yourself or your partner handcuffed to something metal and a LOT of struggling goes on, even then I don't think they'll chip a single bit.

The only parts I could tell that they were even painted were near the 'hinge' points on each cuff and on the underside also, but not the top, as a bit of excess paint had 'formed' there. These cuffs will fit most wrists in my opinion, however, they will NOT fit most ankles and they didn't fit mine, although I have very thick ankles; just don't expect to get two toys in one from these.

The cuffs have a dual locking feature which isn't instantly easy to figure out if you've tossed the box they come in aside right away. The cuffs come with two keys universal to other cuffs (for example, the Nickle versions of these both color of keys work on both sets) that have little prongs at the top of them which, after you place the cuffs securely on your victim (or your own, but I HIGHLY advise AGAINST doing both locks solo as you will definitely 100% NOT be able to get out on your own then unless you're Harry Houdini), you stick the prong into the part on the side of the cuffs opposite to the keyholes where there's a little push pin.
Pushing these in prevents any movement of the cuffs inner workings (the hinged parts I mean), as well as really securing your victim or yourself; doing this will make sure the absolutely only way you or your partner can escape is with the keys.

Activating the dual locking features also means you have to turn your keys clockwise AND counterclockwise to open them, one undoes the dual lock and the other the normal lock. As well, these cuffs are fairly heavy, just so you know. But then, what did you expect for solid metal?

One other side note is these are labeled as Spartacus brand cuffs, but the cuffs I received are branded (on the cuffs themselves) as Fury Tactical brand cuffs; doing a quick Google confirms these are pretty much police issue cuffs, just lesser known than other brands officers use.

These cuffs worked, well let's just say I had to work myself out of a pickle the first day of using them as I ended up with my hands behind my back and the holes facing the wrong way (epic fail, I know), so I spent nearly half an hour freeing myself from their rock solid construction; as I said before these are not designed for 'light restraint'! They are serious cuffs.

I love the black sleek design of the cuffs and the fact they're proper cuffs not some cheap escapable pair and look forward to someone besides myself using them on me or them.

The cuffs are also very uncomfortable if you struggle tons (obviously, they're pretty much professional issued cuffs), so if you want comfortable cuffs look elsewhere; they aren't bad if don't struggle and you or your partner have left yourself with a tiny bit of wiggle room. These can and will leave bruises if you struggle tons, my wrists were sore for 2 days after I spent a 1/2 hour escaping them.

You can store these just about anywhere, but I would not suggest traveling with them (public transport wise, I mean via plane or anywhere that has security checks) though; and from what I read it is illegal in some places not to tell a police officer/law enforcement official if you have the keys on you if you get arrested/detained, so be wary of that, please.

I wouldn't suggest washing them either, as water can rust and possibly deteriorate the paint on the cuffs. If you get them dirty, a damp cloth can be used, but fully dry them after wiping them down so they don't rust.
