Hog-tied - cuffs by Sportsheets - review by Trashley

I honestly can't tell the difference between this set and the 5-piece hog tie and cuff set except that this one is cheaper. They're made with the same materials, from the same company, and come with the same parts. I have yet to find one single difference, but hey, save a few dollars!

The best use for this product is anything involving restraint. There's so many cuff positions you can do with this. You can do the classic hogtie. You can tie your wrists to your head board. You can tie your ankles to the base board. You can attach your wrists to a spreader bar. You can bring yourself into a begging position by tying your wrists together and attaching it to your collar. You can attach the left wrist to the left ankle and the right wrist to the right ankle whether bending back or towards the front (this is a personal favorite). You can do almost anything with these! Fuck normal cuffs.

These cuffs are also really travel friendly. Just stick em in your bag, and you're good to go. They take up little space and you don't need to stuff it in any special bag or box. This is the ULTIMATE set. It's cheap, useful, comfortable, and sexy. For all these reasons and more, this set is for beginners and more advanced users. They're easy and non-intimidating to use, but you can easily get into some more advanced configurations with these. All it takes is a little imagination.

I've never been let down by Sportsheets as long as I've been purchasing products from them, and these cuffs are no different. They're sturdy, soft, and best of all, fun! These guys are made to last and made to have a blast. The set comes with four cuffs with Velcro closures, metal clasps, and one middle piece that can be used to connect all four cuffs at once.

They're small enough to fit my wrists, which are about 1 3/4" diameter and large enough to fit a wide variety of sizes, a really wide variety. The cuffs are about 10" in diameter, but there are nylon pieces that stretch out, making the cuff a full 15 1/2" when completely laid out. The nylon pieces that I'm talking about are responsible for the Velcro holding power. The extending piece has the soft Velcro side while the back part of the cuff has the itchy side.

In the middle of the main part of the cuff lies an o-ring, threaded onto the nylon part and sewn down. Attached to this is the clasp. This clasp hooks onto the middle part you receive with the kit, or the other clasps of the other cuffs in the set. You can even hook this onto a spread bar, a leash, a collar, pretty much whatever floats your boat during your play.

The fuller part of the cuff that underlies the Velcro/nylon piece is jet black fur. Let me tell you, I think fur is the trashiest thing you could ever have lying in your BDSM kit. I think it's ugly, blase, and cliche. However, I think this fur is pretty understated. It's not huge and fluffy and it's not going to fall out all over your carpet or bed. It's actually really comfortable and I'd like to slide these up and down my arms and wrists all night!

Another great thing about these cuffs is that they are vegan-friendly. Metal and nylon are pretty hardy materials and this set is made WELL. You won't have to worry about purchasing another set anytime soon. We tried so hard to break and distress these cuffs, but no dice. I don't see how any level of normal play, even after an extended period of time, could seriously degrade these little babies.

I rated this with a vroom because the Velcro is super noisy, as you all know! You're not going to get out of these without your partner knowing. This may be good...or bad.

These cuffs worked out really great, and I'm confident anyone else who tries them will like them just as much as I did, if not more! I tried each and every of the maneuvers I listed above, and they were all really easy to get into. I actually surprised one of my lovers by running to the bedroom when I knew he had pulled up and hooking myself into the half-semi hogtie position (left leg bent back to connect to left wrist, same with other side). I was able to complete this task within twenty/thirty seconds.

I felt really secure in the cuffs, it wasn't as if I was going anywhere. If you cinch these babies tight enough on your wrist, you can sit pretty and securely in them without cutting off your circulation. The other nice thing is that they're completely covered in fur all around. And what exactly could this mean, you ask? No chafing! Hurray! I know a good chafe. I know it sucks. I know it completely takes you out of the good pain you should be in and want to be feeling! These guys completely circumvent the issue and boy, I've never been more satisfied.

You can't easily make it out of these guys, though. I mean, hello? They're Velcro! It's LOUD. You may be Houdini, but unless you collapse your hand through the existing hole you've set, you're not making out of these without your partner/master knowing exactly what's up. It is great, though, that you can easily tear the Velcro apart and get on with your day afterward. No awkward "Where did the key go?" or "Where's the safety release?" moments.

The one bad thing I noticed about this set is that I have small wrists. They fit my wrists fine when I cinched it down to its smallest level, but the remaining Velcro that hung out tended to grab onto some other stuff. It wasn't so noticeable that I had to spend a majority of my session de-sticking myself, but it was enough to make me take a note of it.

It's made out of nylon and metal so if you get anything on it, just wipe it off with some gentle soap and water and let dry. Because it's not leather, you can also just throw these in the wash and hang dry. You might want to put them in a garment sack or something similar, though, because of the metal. Don't want to wreck your washer! These don't crease, either, like leather does, so you won't have to worry about hanging these straight or anything like that.
