Love cuffs by NMC Ltd - review by markeagleone

OK, this product was entirely my wife's idea. I have to say, I'm glad she got these. Yes, as nice and mild as usually I am, I do have horns that come out from time to time. These work perfectly for that purpose. It is fun, and exciting, to watch my wife squirm when she is at that point, and I take her beyond. That being said, on to the review:

The Love Cuffs can be used by both advanced users and also beginners. It is made not to be too intimidating as the real hand cuffs are. It can be used by anyone who wants to take their partner to soaring new heights and beyond.

These cuffs are not meant to hold weight or have any kind of heavy force placed on them, but they do serve well to hold your loved one captive. I would also have to say that they are more designed for use by people who have smaller size wrists (more size detail below).

I think these cuffs are a great addition to anyone's tool kit for that special night, or day of pleasure. These allow more freedom of movement, but can also be used with leg shackles. It ultimately is the nice way of saying, it's not time yet!

The Love Cuffs line comes in twelve different colors and patterns. I believe Eden only carries the pink ones. They are made for N.M.C. Ltd. in China. They are Nickel free, and contain a total Cadmium content which complies with the European Enzyme Commission Directives. They are also Azo-Dye free, which have been shown to cause Basil Cell Carcinoma (skin cancer) in many case studies.

The cuffs, themselves, are made of steel. Steel is phthalate free. They open 360 degrees with the fur guards removed and the safety latch held open. With the guards in place, they open 180 degrees. They have a maximum opening of 2 3/4 inches and a minimum of 1 5/8 inches. Each locking point is about 3/16 different from the previous point. The set comes with two keys, but also has a quick release lever near the key entrance. The cuffs have a swivel on both sides, which attach to three links of chain. These links are not welded closed, so too much force will cause the links to bend and separate. The total separation between cuffs is three inches and the total length is 10 1/4 inches.

The fur guards are made from Faux Fur, which is an acrylic synthetic fiber. The backing is a normal stitch backing and has one seam running the entire length. The fur is extremely soft and measures approximately 3/8 inch in height for comfort against the steel cuff. The length is 7 1/2 inches and the opening is 1 1/4 inches, which make them easily moved around the steel cuff and provide a good coverage of protection.

The Love Cuffs work extremely well for their intended purpose. They are easy for the wearer to get out if needed, but not so easy that it would destroy the playful purpose of them. They are also strong enough to withstand a pretty good force applied to them without any give.

I, myself, could not comfortably wear these as my wrists are too large and they start to dig in, but my wife found these extremely comfortable (good for me). She is the intended victim, anyway.

My wife did try to pull the cuffs apart, but to no avail. I personally liked this point because I love a lot of playtime, but my wife tries to cut it short and wants to get down to business. These cuffs are a blessing for me, and I think anyone close to my situation will be able to understand that.

I am also glad that she hasn't found a bigger set because I have the feeling after she reads my portion here, I may be in for it!

Care and maintenance of these cuffs is quite simple. The fur guards can be machine washed in cold water and hung dry. Never put simulated fur items into the dryer as the heat will start to degrade the material and start it separating from the backing.

The metal portion of the cuff can be boiled, washed in a dishwasher, or hand washed. Allow the steel to dry completely before storage. A towel wouldn't hurt. I do believe these are somewhat plated, so under normal circumstances, rust won't be a problem (scratched and saw copper under top coat).

Storage of the Love Cuffs is also simple. We prefer to keep ours in the original box in the dresser. They do not occupy very much room, so they will fit in a toy chest just as well. We also keep the keys where they were placed, on a ring attached to the chain links, because there is no real need to use them. The safety latch works just fine.

The box the Love Cuffs came in by no means is discreet. The name is in large letters below a see through window, which shows the cuffs. There is also a model sitting on the edge of a chair wearing blue cuffs around her wrists and one ankle. The box states: "For Lovers Who Really Care". It lists the product numbers of the different colors on the back. It also states that it is an adult novelty toy only. The back also shows a picture of the cuffs with the fur guards removed. It also has a mirror image of the same model from the front. The bottom has different languages, and the top has the directions for use.

The box itself is 6 1/2 inches wide by 1 inch deep and 4 1/2 inches tall (there is also a 1 3/8 inch hanging flap at the top not included in the 4 1/2 inch measurement).

The box is quite an adequate place of storage and constructed, even if it is just for shipping and display.

I found it quite interesting that it comes in many colors and designs from the manufacturer. I understand that Eden cannot, itself, carry the full line. It would be nice, though, if they did have the different ones listed and there was a way to order a specific color or style.

These were a very easy introduction to being restrained. I am not a person that easily gives up control, and I don't trust many people, but these were innocent looking. The pink was not my favorite, but they were soft and fuzzy.

I have 6" wrists so they could be closed to the last setting, but they were too tight and distracting to leave them at that setting. The pink furry plush felt nice against my skin and didn't move too much. I never did feel the metal of the cuffs, except where there was no plush.

I was relieved to know that there were safety latches to these cuffs. That way, I did not have to worry if we lost the key or even broke the key. It does come with two keys, but I don't see the need because of the safety latches. I was able to easily release the latches, however I really didn't want to.

I would like to get a few more of these in different colors, but I think these are perfect for a first time user. They will give me the confidence to try more bondage gear.
