Buck VixSkin - realistic dildo discontinued by Vixen Creations, Inc - review by M121212

So I have been having a lot of fun trying out the different VixSkin dildos from Vixen Creations. Why have I gotten hooked on this particular line? There are a few different reasons. Firstly these dildos are gorgeously realistic with the veins and head beautifully carved. Secondly I love the VixSkin material. VixSkin is made of silicone so it is a totally body safe material that can be sterilized. It does not feel like regular silicone, however. VixSkin is made with dual density construction, so the inner core is stiff and strong while the outer layer is soft and squishy. Together these make the dildos feel a lot like real cocks. Finally, VixSkin dildos are harness compatible, and I've been having a lot of fun finding new dicks for my strap on these days.

Currently I have three VixSkin dildos, the Goodfella, the Lone Star and now the Buck. This review is going to be somewhat comparative as I think that will help people who are trying to figure out which VixSkin dildo to buy.

So, the two dildos I have that are the closest in size are the Lone Star and Buck:



The girth of these dildos is very similar. The Buck weighs in at 2" diameter while the Lone Star is 1-7/8". Yet these dildos feel quite different when inserted. Why? There are a few reasons. First off, notice how different their heads are. The Buck has quite a pronounced head with a ridge that sticks out quite far. While in use, this ridge rubs against the inside of the vagina (or rectum), adding a certain kind of added stimulation. Also with a pronounced head one can feel a popping sensation when the dildo is removed or inserted. Some find this uncomfortable while I really enjoy toys with a pronounced head. Conversely, the Lone Star has a very subtle head structurally. It is beautifully carved, but really only raises up a little bit from the head to the shaft of the toy.

Secondly, the squish of the material is different. I have heard from other reviewers that these toys vary a bit from batch to batch, because they are hand made toys. My Lone Star is quite stiff. It has a lovely soft head as do all VixSkin dildos, but the soft outer shell is not super thick. I find that my Buck is quite a bit plushier with a lot more give to it. That means that even though the Buck is a little thicker, it doesn't really feel that way.

Thirdly you can look at the shape of the shaft. Though it has a very subtle head, the Lone Star actually widens a bit as you go farther along the shaft. The shaft of the Lone Star is also quite straight compared with the Buck that has a subtle curve. The shaft of the Buck also widens slightly, but you only really notice this if you push the dildo all the way in.

Fourth, the base of the toy. Clearly the Lone Star has these lovely balls built into the base of the toy. This acts as a handle and gives you added options of holding the dildo upside-down or the regular way around. I was a little surprised initially about how large the base is of the Buck. It is really thick and serious looking! In use I found this large base acted as a lovely handle. It's so sturdy that I really feel confident wielding that thing!



Finally, the sculptural elements are a bit different. I'd say overall the Lone Star has a higher degree of sculpture. The details around the head are especially lovely. It also has more sculpted area with the balls being as they are. The veining on the Lone Star tends to be more straight up and down in line with the cock, and offers rises and dips between veins that point up. The Spur has more zig-zag veins and the head is smoother overall. The shaft is a bit smoother as well, or perhaps it just feels that way when inserted.

As you can see the diameter of these two dildos is quite different, as are the overall shape and structure.

The way I experience the Lone Star is this: I feel the textured sides of the dildo running along the sides of my vagina as I'm sliding the dildo in and out. When I use the Buck I have the smooth popping sensation of the head going in, and I continue to feel the head of the dildo more than the shaft as I thrust it deeper into my body. For me, I prefer the sensation of the Buck.

I feel a bit like Goldilocks, getting to try out all these wonderful dildos to figure out which one is "just right." I hope that my review helps you to find the dildo that's right for you!

Care and Maintenance

VixSkin can be sterilized by boiling for a few minutes on the stove top, running through the top rack of the dishwasher, or wiping down with a 10% bleach solution. If sterilization is not required, a wash off with mild soap and water will do fine. It is best to let your toy air dry and to store it in a sealed container so that dust does not collect. Unfortunately VixSkin does act as a great lint magnet. When storing your VixSkin toy, make sure that it is not touching any other toys especially if they are made of silicone. The VixSkin material is quite sensitive and can warp when stored in contact with other silicone. I store mine either in the containers they came in or standing upright in a closed drawer. Only use water based lubricants with this toy!
