A Dildo Worth Fighting Over

Buck is a realistic dildo made of my one of my favorite things in the world - VixSkin. A large firm core is wrapped in a soft outer layer, producing a firm yet realistic feeling dildo that won't soon be forgotten. The head is noticeable, but never in a bad way. While the size may be too large for many, those that can use Buck will be swept away by the material and design.

Use

Buck is a realistic dildo by Vixen Creations. It’s made with the premium dual density silicone VixSkin. Buck is a larger sized toy, more suited to size kings and queens than to those new to penetration. It’s not the largest toy you’ll find on the market, but it’s by no means the smallest either.

Buck is flared at the base, making it harness compatible and safe for anal or vaginal use. Harness ready means partner play ready. If you have a partner that can handle the size of Buck, it can be used by any couple that uses a harness. It can also be used as a thrusting toy with a partner or alone. It can be paired with an external vibrator or used by itself.

Warm up is a good idea before inserting a toy of this size, especially if you are new to larger toys. There is a potential for ripping if you move to a large size too quickly, both anally and vaginally, so take your time.

Material / Texture

Buck is made of VixSkin silicone, putting it at a ten on the safety scale. It's non-porous and phthalates free. It can be disinfected between uses or partners (see cleaning).

Vixen's VixSkin is a special dual density silicone. Dual density means that there's a firm inner core and a soft outer layer. Silicone lubricant is suspended between the molecules to give it greater elasticity and a more realistic feel. VixSkin is an amazing material in terms of both quality and level of realism achieved.

Buck's inner core is thicker than some other VixSkin toys, making it less squishy. It can be squeezed inward some, but you hit the inner core quickly which then will push back against you. The head is made of just the soft material and can be squeezed inward completely. The thicker inner core helps in the stability of this larger sized toy. On the other hand, it does feel slightly less realistic to me than the VixSkin dildos with more squish. Something about the thicker layer of soft silicone makes the movement of the outer layer and overall feel more real to me, though I know that's not the case for everyone. If you prefer realistic toys that are a bit firmer, Buck may feel more realistic to you than some other VixSkin dildos.

Even with the thicker inner core, the outer layer does still have movement to it. If you rub your fingers in circles at the shaft, you can see the outer layer move over the inner layer, much like real skin would do. This movement is one of my favorite things about VixSkin because you can feel this when you use it.

Buck can be bent downward into an L shape. It cannot be bent completely in half. It's not at all floppy and holds its shape well. If held in the hand and shaken around, it stays straight while it sways to the movement.

The entire dildo has a skin-like texture on it. Lots of little lines and indentations make up this skin texture, giving it a more realistic appearance than a glossy or plain matte silicone. In addition to this, there are veins that run along the shaft of the toy. These can be felt on the hand and to a lesser extent in use. They aren't extreme and should be okay to use by all but the most texture sensitive. The jury is still out on if this texture adds to the feel. I can't exactly distinguish the skin texture, but it does feel different and more realistic than a smooth silicone. I guess it adds something to the realism, but not to the sensation in the same way a ribbed texture would.

There is a light silicone scent to Buck. There is no taste.

Design / Shape / Size

Buck is a larger dildo, but not the largest by any means. It's 7.5" in total length of which 6.5" is insertable. It is 2" in diameter at the widest point. Near the head is 1.25" while further down the shaft is 1.75". The base is 3.5" wide. These measurements are as per the product page and my own measurements.

As a size reference, here you can see Buck in my hand:

The size of Buck makes it more suited to those that prefer larger sizes. It won't work for those that haven't experienced penetration or prefer smaller toys. Buck provides a full sensation with a bit of a stretch. The stretch is more noticeable if you don't warm up beforehand. The VixSkin material does make it feel smaller than a 2" dildo made of completely firm silicone, but that doesn't mean it feels small. It's a dildo you'll feel every inch of without question. Buck won't be a good fit for everyone, so make sure that the size is in your range before you purchase this toy.

Buck is designed to look like a penis. After all, it's a realistic dildo. It has a head that comes outward some (but not too much). The shaft is veined and skin textured, as mentioned in the materials section. It doesn't have balls, just a regular base, so it's not a full realistic dildo in that sense. As a realistic toy, Buck is far from discreet. There will be no explaining this away if someone finds it. However, it's not so large that you can't hide it away if you want to. You could travel with it if you have a bit of room and aren't worried about people going through your bags and finding it.

Performance

Buck was a purchase I made after I discovered that 2" was the size I preferred in larger toys. I had fallen in love with my Maverick VixSkin, but there was a little bit of extra effort required to keep the head from hitting my pubic bone. Ever in search of the next best thing, Buck found its way into my cart.

The first thing that should be noted is that Buck is .25" shorter than Maverick. It doesn't seem like a big difference, but I do sort of miss that .25". While I never insert that much, it's helpful in keeping the dildo from falling out if I just want to place it internally rather than thrust with it. It's also nice to have the extra handle room. While I didn't use it for pegging, extra length is always a bonus for harness use. The length of Buck was never an issue or anything, but if I could I would add in a little extra length just to have it there.

Length issue aside, Buck performed wonderfully. I had no problems with the head getting caught on my public bone or causing discomfort in any way. It was noticeable in use, but didn't cause popping or any unpleasant sensations. I do tend to prefer my squishy VixSkin's, but the firmer quality of Buck ended up working out really well. I don't find it to be quite as realistic, but it still feels amazing and way more realistic than any other material out there. The firmer quality gave it a more filling sensation, which of course is really what I was going for with this toy in the first place. Well, firm while still maintaining some sense of realism. I think it pulls that off perfectly.

Buck is harness compatible, but make sure you have an O ring that will fit it (2"). This is my toy and not my husband's, so it wasn't harness tested. It is a bit weighty, so something to keep in mind for harness use. I don't think it's enough weight to make it unusable, but you'll feel this when you're thrusting more than you would a smaller toy.

It's not a suction cup at the bottom. The base does stick when wet naturally. I wouldn't rely on this in use since it's not intended for that. It's a good grip and all, I just wouldn't personally trust things that aren't actual suction cups.

Care and Maintenance

Buck can be washed with soap and water, toy cleaner, or toy spray. It can be boiled for three minutes or placed in the dishwasher. If sharing between partners or going from vaginal to anal, it should be boiled for sanitation purposes.

Only water based lubes should be used with Buck. Silicone lubes can damage the material.

Vixen recommends that VixSkin toys be stored upright. You can use the packaging to do this. My husband keeps his VixSkin in his drawer with no ill effect (yet), so it's up to you if you want to abide by this or not. I keep mine upright in the original container. A pouch or baggie will work, too.

Packaging

Buck comes in a clear container with the words "VixSkin Worth Every Inch" in the front. The back has information on what makes VixSkin so special and contact information for Vixen. It's not even a little bit discreet, so don't open this in front of anyone that you don't want to see a realistic dildo. It works for storage, but the top is a serious pain to get on. It fits it exactly, so you'll be fighting to get the top to line back up and close again.

Personal comments

If you like a firmer realistic toy, but not something that's super firm, Buck is a great option. The size won't be a good fit for many users. If you're one that prefers larger sizes however, this is worth adding to the list. You won't find material out there better than VixSkin. The shape of Buck is wonderful for thrusting at any speed since it won't catch.

Experience

I don't really have any bad things to say about Buck. A little extra length wouldn't hurt, both for personal use and for harness use. It didn't hinder the experience not to have it, it's just a personal preference of mine to have more length than I could ever use for some reason. I love that I can thrust with this at a faster speed than I can with Maverick without having to think about angling it just the right way. I love the VixSkin, as always. My husband is actually a fan, as well. When he saw Buck come in the mail, he immediately tried to steal it from me. I now have to hide all my new VixSkin lovelies when I get them since there are two VixSkin fans in the home. When I was taking pictures for the review, he kept coming in and trying to grab it. He's even commented on it again while I was writing this! Needless to say, I won't be giving Buck up anytime soon. This has been my go to dildo for when I want something in the 2" range since I received it. Buck is all mine to keep!
