Cavalier - strap-on dildo discontinued by Fun Factory - review by Jimbo Jones

I find that there are some holes in my sex toy collection that persist. I love silicone toys, and there are several companies that specialize in making high quality silicone toys. One of the companies whose toys I have not yet been able to sample is Fun Factory. Fun Factory is a German company that specializes in the use of silicone to manufacture sex toys. In fact, many of their designs are very unique and inventive, so I was naturally excited to give one of their toys a try.

If the Cavalier is any indication of the quality one can expect from Fun Factory, then I would say that they make toys of the highest quality. The details of the Cavalier are exquisite. If I were to try and describe the Cavalier, I would say that it is a lot like a combination of graduated anal beads and a traditional dildo. Each bulge in the Cavalier has one side slightly smaller than the other with a matte texture on one side and a glossy texture on the other. These finishes alternate sides along the length of the toy. I am not sure how Fun Factory accomplished this look, but it is really amazing. This anal bead/dildo combination means that you get some but not all of the sensation of anal beads in a toy you can thrust with. I wouldn’t say that it delivers the best of both worlds, but it provides enough of a taste of each that I found it very satisfying. The Cavalier starts small and works its way up across its 5 ¾” insertable length to a diameter of 1 3/8”, so it is easy to insert and perfect for an anal beginner while still providing a decent length and width to work up to. Also, the base is very well designed and fits very well in a harness. It has the characteristic Fun Factory rounded triangular shape and can even act as a pretty decent suction cup which is very unique among silicone toys.

All of these attributes add up to an unusual and yet satisfying piece for some anal fun. I can’t say it did much vaginally for my female partner because it was not rigid enough nor large enough to provide her with much satisfaction, but I enjoyed the feeling it provided in my ass and is well made for application in a lot of different conditions.

After taking the Cavalier into the shower to test the suction cup, we tested it out first vaginally on my female partner. She was not very impressed as she found it to be too “pokey” and not satisfyingly filling. The Cavalier lacks rigidity and is not curved, so I was unable to get it into a position where it could provide g-spot stimulation either. I also tried it out in the harness just to see how it fit and handled and found it to work very well there. After some appropriate sterilization which (since it is 100% silicone) can include wiping with 10% bleach solution, boiling for 5 minutes or running it through the dishwasher (top rack, no soap) it was time for me to try it out anally. My partner added some lube and shortly was able to insert it. It does bend quite a bit, so the first entry takes a little extra work, but it’s worth it. As the bulges slipped in one at a time I really enjoyed the feel as they got bigger and bigger. Then as she moved the Cavalier in and out I got to experience that feeling over and over. It was very pleasing. The Cavalier does not stay in very well on its own, due to its shape, but it really is not meant to be used like a butt plug. Overall, I found the Cavalier to do what it was designed to do quite well.
