A cure for the itch!

This toy is ideal for direct, finger like stimulation of the g-spot. If you've ever wished your hand was a vibrator, Silky G will help you scratch your sexual itch. Modest enough in size to appeal to beginners, but satisfying for anyone looking for concentrated vibrations.

Use

Though it's slim and relatively unassuming, the Silky G is one of my most reliable vibrating toys. It's designed with a hook for g-spot stimulation, but can easily be used for a little warming up; this is not a toy you have to work up to. Because of the relative ease of insertion I've often used this toy as a precursor to larger dildos, but I have to be careful to keep it pretty still and on a low setting if I want to make it to another toy! My body responds very well to the stimulation the Silky G gives and I can usually come quickly with it even if I'm just getting started. If I'm looking for a longer, slower session of internal thrusting I do not reach for this guy.

Personally, I think this toy is best used alone for insertion unless your partner knows your body very well, or you're able to communicate very clearly about what feels right. Its curve is likely to be too pointed and pronounced for a partner to thrust comfortably, and you run the risk of having your delicate innards jabbed! This is perfectly tailored for solo use however, since you can direct it with greater purpose for extremely satisfying stimulation.

Material / Texture

The velvety finished plastic material is just begging to be touched. It's firm, smooth exterior feels great rubbed over any part of the body on it's lowest vibration setting, but the medium and high settings create a jittery-ness that isn't really appropriate for external stimulation. There's no raised texture, but the velvety coating gives a distinctly pleasurable sensation with very little drag. It has a comfortably cool temperature but gives the illusion of warmth with vibration, and doesn't have the cold inanimate qualities of uncoated plastic. Beginners should find insertion easier with this toy than a toy made of a tackier, floppier material that sticks and bends.

Silky G's plastic body is nonporous and body safe, but gets an 8 on the safety scale because it can't be sterilized. If you share the toy with a partner, you should use a condom. During play I've found that it holds the smell of vaginal fluids more so than a material like glass; personally I love the smell, and it disappears once the toy has been washed. Otherwise, it's virtually scentless.

Design / Shape / Size

Sometimes my sexual urges come in the form of concentrated tingles along the vaginal walls; I refer to this as my sexual itch. When it comes to scratching my sexual itch, nothing can do as good a job as the Silky G. No broad, blunt realistic dildo can reach in like a finger and get the job done. Take the relief of a back-scratcher, and multiply it by the nerve endings in your vagina. Wow!

Some may find the curved pointed head of this toy to be too extreme, so if you have no sexual itch to satisfy the point may be uncomfortable or irritating for internal use. If you like a wider, flatter span against your g-spot you are also likely to be unsatisfied by this design. If you are someone like me who is used to stimulating your g-spot with your fingers, or having your partner do the same, this will blow you away! The concentration of vibrations at the tip is like one big vibrating finger that can't miss. Of course you don't have to be able to reach orgasm by way of fingers for this to work for you, but if it's something you wish you could achieve, this is sure to help you get there.

For $24.99 the external uses of this toy may be enough to make this a worthwhile purchase. The curve of the head lays very neatly over the clitoris and vulva, and the additional length of the handle makes it easy to use without reaching while laying on your back, or in many positions during intercourse with a partner. The point also comes in very handy for teasing, and feels great focused on the nipples or dragged slowly over the body. If you want to get really creative, you can use it to play a game where you spell out sexy messages letter by letter on your partners back, and see if they can guess what you wrote. Think of the Silky G as an over-sized vibrating pencil.

There are two bulges just under the head, the largest of which measures just over 1 1/4" in diameter. While the toy is positioned to stimulate the g-spot, the largest bulge which ends 3" down the shaft, rests at my vaginal opening offering great stimulation. The vibrations drop off significantly after the second bulge which is fine for me; it leaves a shake free base for me to hold onto. This toy doesn't give the fullness some may need to get off, so if this design appeals to you but you want additional stimulation to the vaginal walls, you may look for a similar design with a heftier girth. Exotics Novelties makes a few TPR toys with very similar designs, the True Love Romantic G, which has a 1 5/8" diameter, and the True Love Passionate G, which has a 1 7/8" diameter. If you want to stick with the velvety finish, Cal Exotics has a similar product with a 1 3/4" girth, the Dream Massager G.

Functions / Performance / Controls

There are 3 speed options controllable by a button at the very base of the toy. You simply cycle through the low, medium, and high settings, then the fourth push of the button turns the toy back off. Should you have an aversion to the higher settings, you'll either have to remove the toy while it's still vibrating, or endure a quick burst of extreme vibrations as you cycle to the off setting before removal. Not a big inconvenience for me. Sometimes I leave it vibrating for a minute or two after I've climaxed before removing it, just because I'm too spent to turn it off. The control is very easy to access though, and I have no complaints about it.

I haven't submerged the toy in water, but it's design supports its claim to be waterproof. The internal end of the screw off base is about a half inch thick with an o-ring for added security. The base screws on very snugly, but even if it weren't fully tightened the ridges it screws onto are pronounced enough that liquid would not easily find its way past them. Any liquid that arrives at the meeting point of the body and removable base would have to travel up a half inch inside the toy to reach the opening to the battery compartment. I've noticed a little stickiness around the o-ring but nothing beyond that, so you may want to remove and wipe around the o-ring during cleaning.

This toy takes two AA batteries and has pretty decently strong vibrations. They're a little buzzy which makes them feel stronger externally and at the pointed tip, unlike deep vibrations where you'd need more contact to get the full effect. Even folks who don't normally go for buzzy vibrations may be okay with how they work with this shape.

Care and Maintenance

The smooth surface and material of this toy makes it very easy to care for since there are virtually no areas that trap or hide dirt or fluids. Even when left out, I haven't noticed too much lint sticking to its surface. When I circle my fingers and slide them up the shaft it looks and feels clean. Of course I still rinse and wash it with mild soap between uses. As I mentioned above you may want to remove and wipe around the o-ring in the battery compartment to ensure nothing has stuck there, but I wouldn't use water with the base screwed off since it is so close to the conductors on the inside.

Evolved Novelties always packages their toys beautifully in tin cases with foam cut out interiors for the toys to fit into. The case is 8 1/2" long, 2 1/2" high, and just over 3" wide. I just sit this case right in my toy drawer. Be sure to clean and dry the toy before placing it back in the case though, so the foam doesn't harbor bacteria.

Follow-up commentary
I don't reach for this toy as often as I used to, but it's still quite a hard working toy for its low price. I've found that I don't need vibrations as much as I thought I did; I'm singularly obsessed with glass these days, otherwise this would be in heavy rotation. It's still great for sessions where I don't want to have to pregame before insertion. A godsend for beginners, especially beginners looking for their g-spot!

If you're a newbie to g-spot stimulation and have the monetary resources, I'd couple this purchase with Lelo's Ella. Between the pinpointing head of the Silky G and Ella's broad head, I'd say the chances of a home run orgasm are pretty good!
