The Classic Chic by California Exotic Novelties is your classic type vibrator. Designed for easy insertion with seven different vibes that is sure to please without being too intimidating. Can be used anywhere that enjoys heavy vibes; clit, vagina, breast, ass (no base so we just use it to stimulate the outer anus. We use it with a condom for this) and strong enough for a sore shoulder (believe me it works great for sore muscles) if needed. Works very good solo or during intercourse. While not a G-spot type vibe, we found the length makes it easy to angle up to hit hers.

My wife is new to vibrators (her second) so this is a very good first vibe and has enough power to satisfy even advanced users that need strong vibes but don't want the girth. Very classy and looks great when I am playing with it on the wife.

The Classic Chic is made from PU coated plastic / Velvet cote. There was no smell, and the feel of this vibe is like silk, and there is no friction to it. This toy is hard from the plastic but it kinda has some softness to it. I think this is because it feels so good. The PU coating is not that thick but gives the impression of being thicker. My wife likes the smooth feel, but more advance users may want some texture.

This toy is Phthalates free, and is suitable for water based and silicone based lubricants. We have found that depending on the wetness of my wife we could use little or no lube. When we did need lube we would have to reapply every so often but not much, couple of drops. (We use ID millennium silicone.) The silicone lubes seem to work better than water based for this toy.

This vibe measures in at 7 1/4 inches long (6 inches insertable) and 1 inch diameter (3 1/2 inch circumference). At 1 inch, the handle could be bigger, kinda hard to hold especially with lube on your hands. My wife does not want anything too big and this vibe is "just right" she says. Although she doesn't like it put in all the way she likes the feel of the finish and she can angle it to hit her G-spot or anywhere else that feels good. I chose the black finish and it has a chrome covered plastic ring at the end finished off with the single control button that has a rubber like cover.

While she says that the tip is too pointy (hits her wrong sometimes) it does make it easier for insertion and pinpoint clit stimulation.

I was given this toy for review so I don't know the cost but this toy has great features, and the shape/size is right on for the beginner. Even if the price is high you could not go wrong. I don't think that this toy is discreet, most people with a brain will know what it is. If you were to take it on a plane you should put it in the check on luggage to avoid embarrassment.

Functions and performance, well I will start with performance first. The Classic Chic works better than I expected. (See experience.) We used it all over her body and mine, and not just for sexual use. After a hard day at my work, my neck and shoulder were sore and this vibe worked great to massage the sore muscles. Does not get much better than that.

As far as functions go, I have been trying to figure out how to describe the settings. One of the reviews I read described it like a helicopter, that is pretty close.
This only our second vibe so not much to compare to so here goes;

First setting is like a cake mixer, (dual beater type thing) Strong, makes your hand tingle if you hold it for very long. Constant.

Second , Kinda sounds like a machine gun, fast pulse, not as strong as the first. Constant.

Third, is a mix, starts with the machine gun, then cake mixer, then harder mixer, repeat.

Fourth, Machine gun then mixer with pauses three or four times then shorter pauses then machine gun. Repeat.

Fifth, mixer, starts high, then low, then medium, repeat. No breaks in between.

Sixth, Short machine gun, short mixer, Short machine gun, short mixer, Short machine gun, short mixer, shorter mixer, shorter mixer, repeat.

Seventh and last is the first two combined, mixer for 4 or 5 seconds then machine gun for 4 or 5 seconds. Repeat.

My wife likes them all and it is fun to go through them while in use but it would be nice if there were two buttons, one for off and on and one for the settings. Also she would like a softer setting, starting of with such a high setting is kind of shocking. (again see experience)

After 3 or 4 uses the battery's (AA x 2) are still good, so it does not use them up. Also the package says that it is water proof and when we used it in the shower this held true; however, when I cleaned it after our last use I found one drop of water inside the cap. Make sure that the cap is on tight.

This toy is noisy when not inside the body, can be heard through a door. So no using it with the kids or others around for external use. Once it is inserted the sounds can be covered up with a blanket and closed door. So use your best judgment.

To clean this toy you can use soap and water or your favorite toy cleaner. You can also clean it with alcohol. Just make sure that you clean in the seam between the cap and body of the vibe. Also I noticed that the smell of your soap stays with it so be aware of that and rinse thoroughly.

You can use your choice of water or silicone based lubes. We found that not much was required.

We store it in the box it came in and wash it before and after. I have not noticed that it attracts dust or fuzz, but we always clean it then put it away. I do not know of any material compatibility issues, but I always recommend that you store your toy separately.

The Classic Chic comes in a nice plastic box that is suitable for storage. There are lube suggestions and the typical safety disclaimer. You can see the vibe through the package so if you are giving this as a gift make sure that it is unwrapped in private or where others can not see.

If your wife or significant other has not used vibes before make sure that you let them try it first, especially this one. When I took this out and showed it to her there were no batteries in it so she had no clue. When we first tried it out she just about jumped out of the bed when I turned it on.

Lesson learned!
