Looking for something simple in design but packed with variety and power? I always thought that the traditional vibes were quite simple and when I ordered the Classic Chic 6, I was not able to view the product page, so I really didn't know what I was receiving to review. What I got was a luxurious vibe loaded with a powerful bullet which was capable of cycling through 7 different modes. Ideal for nipple, clit, and vaginal stimulation the Chic is simple in design and well suited to both beginners and advanced users alike who want some alone time or teasing time with a partner.
The chic is coated in velvet cote which is non-porous and phthalates-free. The finish is matted with a super soft velvety feel. As with all velvet cote toys I have had in the past, this one requires a lot of lube. While velvet cote offers a new type of soft sensation, it drys out quickly. Therefore, always have lube on hand when playing.
The toy itself is tasteless and odorless. I love it when I receive a toy without the new toy smell. Because the toy is smooth it is perfect for those of you who are just beginning in play. Nothing intimidating here unless you're running out of lube.
Just your basic vibe here. No bells and whistles that you can see on the outside. Just smooth slimness. The toy is 7 inches in length with 6 of those inches being insertable length. Circumference is 3 1/2 inches along the entirety of the shaft except for the tip which is tapered. The tapered tip fits well against the clit and therefor makes a wonderful clit vibe. The length is a little long for myself and I found it poking my cervix but I know that some women prefer more length and for those of you, this is a wonderful vibe that fulfills that need.
The toy is not discreet. It's bright pink and obvious. Therefor, traveling with this toy will take some ingenuity as you will have to figure out how to conceal it.
The control unit is at the base of the toy and works with a single push button. The button itself is encircled by silver, metallic plastic. The first push starts a strong steady vibration. Push it again and you receive strong fast pulses. Third is a strong burst followed by fast pulses which end in a steady escalating vibe. Next are fast pulses followed by very strong escalating bursts. Next is a steady escalating vibe which goes from strong to light. Next is strong pulses and bursts of power at differing speeds. The last is very fast pulses followed by steady strong vibes. The next push will turn the unit off. The only way to turn the unit off is to cycle through all the modes. For myself, I enjoy the modes with bursts of power as they tease me and provide me with strong vibes at the same time.
The push button itself is easy to use and quite large. You shouldn't have trouble finding it during play. Also, you have to add a bit of pressure to change the mode, so you won't find yourself changing modes on accident. The vibes are located at the tip of the unit but travel extremely well through the entire toy. The vibes are noisy however and can be heard through a closed door. This means that the toy is not suited to those with roommates or those who live in dorms. Luckily, the sound of the shower should drown the noise out and since the toy is waterproof it can be used in both the shower and tub.
This toy can be cleaned in one of two ways. You can wash it with antibacterial soap and warm water before and after each use or rub it down with rubbing alcohol. I use alcohol on mine for convenience. Unfortunately, fluids build up in the small crevice between shaft and the control unit so you have to take extra care to get that area of the toy clean. The toy is compatible with both water and silicone lubes which makes it ideal for a shower playmate. Finally, this toy can be tossed in a toy chest or sock drawer. It won't attract lint and it won't interact with other chemicals.
The toy arrived in a small clear plastic box covered in a pretty pink ribbon design. On the side of the box is the normal safety disclaimer from California Exotics along with lube recommendations. Inside, the unit has a paper fold out battery installation instruction sheet, which comes in handy. The vibe takes two AA batteries. Because the box is plastic, you could store the toy in it, but it really isn't necessary. The box itself is not suitable for gifting.
I am always eager to try out my new toys. Who isn't? So I jumped into bed, put on a porn, and started playing. I lubed the toy up and slipped it in. It fit nicely but was a little poky when I slipped it in all the way. Even so, I turned on the vibes and shifted through each cycle. Then, I tried the unit out on my clit. It fit nicely and provided me with a lot of intense stimulation. Nipple play was even better. For the first time, I had something that tickled my nipples, which I love! After just a few minutes I had to add more lube, but that really wasn't a problem, I had plenty. Soon, with the strong bursts of power I came and was very satisfied in my new toy.

The Classic Chic 6 has stood the test of time. Well sort of. The vibes are strong, the texture and feel, just like new, and the controls flawless. There is one problem though. There is a crack within the inner plastic in the battery compartment. This doesn't effect the toy, yet however I am not sure about water play at this point. Even so, the toy has done well and is one that will last.
