Jewel - traditional vibrator by Shaki Toys - review by Tori Rebel

My first impression of this vibrator was that it really is beautiful. The clear and dark pink rhinestones against the soft matte black body of the toy really are appealing to the eye.

Jewel is about 6.5" and 'velvet' finish hard plastic - I chose mine in black, with which I was very pleased. The body of the toy has a thin-then-thick flare and the top is rounded, but not AS round as most toys. It has more of a soft plateau shaped head as opposed to something entirely round. The battery cover is where the rhinestones are and they seem to be applied very firmly so I wasn't concerned with them falling off when opening or closing the toy. The dial is very thin and at the base of the battery cap and it actually took me a few minutes to find it because the slight gap between the control and the cap is well disguised by the finish.

I used this toy with a silicone lubricant, since it's made of plastic which is considered safe with silicone lubes. The shape works very well for teasing outside my body, penetration, and clitoral stimulation. It really is one of the most appealing shapes of the toys I own. However it doesn't have anything close to a natural form so if you're looking for a realistic feel this might not be the toy for you. The velvet finish plastic moved nicely against my skin but not as smoothly as some other toys I have with a similar coating. It seems like maybe there's less of the velvet-soft finish on this toy than others.

The toy uses 2 AA batteries so of course I used 2 new batteries, fresh from the package. Even with brand new batteries, this toy's vibration just wasn't as strong as I would have liked. It may be better for someone looking for a toy just to use to tease or for foreplay but I had to switch to a stronger vibrator to orgasm. It also felt great to use for penetration because of its shape, even with the lack of vibration. Besides it being on the weak side, it was also a little noisier than I would have expected for a toy with that level of vibration, and the vibration mechanism wasn't as smooth and consistent as other toys. Although for the very low price tag, it's still a decent quality toy.

Since Jewel is made of hard plastic with a smooth coating, it can be washed in warm water with antibacterial soap and dried with a towel or paper towel. It can be stored among other plastic toys or stored in its own container if desired.

Although I have not used this toy in water yet, it is advertised as waterproof and I can't find any flaws that would make me think it would not hold true as such.

Jewel is also multi-speed and has a nice variation of vibration levels but the dial is very very thin and was difficult to adjust without inadvertently unscrewing the cap.

Jewel is a good toy for the budget conscious and is really impressive looking but the low level of vibration left me unsatisfied. It was great for penetration and for getting me turned on but failed in bringing me to orgasm.

I still like this toy and I still enjoy the design of it, but I still don't, nor do I think I ever will, love it.
