Get Playful!

Overall I would definitely say I dug the Durex play warming experience. The bottle went into the good oil' lube bag with my other faithful standbys. It will probably only last through about 3-4 sessions of warm, wet fun before the pump will run dry, but buying more would definitely not be out of the question.

Pros
It actually gets warm!!
It's pretty inexpensive at about $10 a bottle.
Cons
While it doesn't seem to dry up or soak in too quickly, the warming sensation does fade.

extremely useful review
As so many lubricant beginners do, I started my endeavor into the wonderful world of super wet sex with your run of the mill drugstore lubes. It seems that everytime I visit my local 24 hour drugstore in pursuit of something slippery (or safe-- they do keep the condoms on the same aisle after all!) they have more bottles, jars, and tubes for me to choose from. Likewise, it seems that all of your major brand names are offering their own spin on the 'warming' lube.

This brings me to Durex play warming. "Play"... how can I possibly resist something with a name like that? Obviously I can't. So I grabbed it and rushed home to tell my honey it was time to give it a try.

The first thing I noticed, of course, was the packaging. The pump bottle was convenient for me because it kept me from going crazy and squirting half the bottle out first thing. I have been known to go overboard when it comes to oiling things up. The red tint on the outside of the bottle led me to believe that the juice inside would actually be red, but it was clear. There wasn't much of a smell, which is fine by me. It's not a flavored lube by any means, but it didn't taste so bad.

I never know what to expect when trying out a new 'warming' lube since there are so many out there and they all seem to have different results. Many don't seem to do anything at all so I try not to get my hopes up. After applying a liberal amount to my partner's cock and working it in with several nice long strokes, the verdict (according to him) was room temp. It was very slippery though and not too sticky. It didn't dry up or soak in too quickly either. Now it's my turn. I pumped a generous dollop onto my fingertips and rubbed it around my clit and just inside the lips. I thought I felt a little warmth, but decided maybe it was just the power of suggestion.

Pressing ever onward I figured the best course of action to truly test out any lube, warming or otherwise, is some good old-fashioned penetration. After about 4-5 good hard strokes things really started to heat up... literally. This turned out to be one of the few (drugstore) warming lubes that actually raised the thermometer in the bedroom. I could definitely feel a warming sensation and I *loved* it. My partner still didn't notice any difference in temp from doing it sans lube, but he did enjoy my reaction to the heat.

It didn't seem to soak in or dry up much at all, but the warming sensation did fade after about 10 minutes which led me to apply more. (Is that a marketing strategy? I wonder...)

By the end of our romp I was, of course, warm all over.

I usually don't buy warming lubes, because all of the blood naturally rushing to the vulva heats things up; I tend to prefer cooling/tingling stuff, because it's a different sensation. This sounds okay, though. Great first review!

    Why only 2 stars?

Welcome to the community. If you like that sensation, definitely check out some other arousal lubes on the site that might be even better than what Durex has to offer.
