I'll Take Another Gift!

I don't recommend this toy to anyone unless they usually use toys of this style. The battery life is nothing to brag about. If you are like me and want to play longer, get something rechargeable. I hate throwing away gifts, but this toy isn't even worthy to stay in my bedroom. It cuts off just before climax, and the drag and thickness makes it near impossible to insert. Don't even get me started on the noise level! It was a total disappointment.

Use

I received the SinFive Insigno as a gift for my birthday this past month. My friend, thinking that it was charming and full of power, purchased it for me. Unfortunately, all her claims/beliefs about the Sin Five Insigno were wrong. It is not high in power, nor does it feel extravagant when being used internally. If anything, it should have been made shorter for use as a clitoral vibrator. Even then, it's too weak.

Material / Texture

The Insigno is made of pure silicone, with a plastic end cap. It has somewhat of a texture due to all the little symbols. However, the texture can only be felt with one's hand. You will feel literally nothing internally as far as texture goes.

The vibrator also has quite the drag. You will want to use a lot of lubricant if you plan on inserting this toy at all. Even dragging this toy along the clitoris will require a lot of lubricant. This is probably one of the things I hated most about the Insigno.

I wouldn't say that this is a beginner or an advanced user's toy specifically. Anyone could use it. However, if you are tighter like myself, you may have trouble inserting this. The drag of the silicone doesn't help with that either. I made myself bleed during the first two uses, so I only used it clitorally after that.

Design / Shape / Size

I think the design could have been better. For one, it isn't "solid enough". There's far too much bend to this toy, and you can literally make it do "the bridge" by bending it. The fact that it isn't solid enough also makes the vibrations travel less. You think it would be the other way around, but I'm not into science. I can't tell you if that's the true reason. All I know is that the vibrations do not travel across the toy as they should.

The size could be thinner and a little shorter. I think it's way too tall, which takes away from the discretion. The thickness just makes it harder to insert, on top of the heavy drag that I mentioned above. A more compact Insigno would be better. The vibrations would probably travel better if it was smaller, as well.

It is suitable for travel, and you can hide it. Have fun finding a hiding spot though. This thing is HUGE. So, you'll probably want to buy yourself a nice toy pouch or something. You can obviously hide it in a suitcase, so that's all that matters when it comes to traveling.

Functions / Performance / Controls

There are 8 functions: 6 different intensities and two levels of pattern. I find the patterned levels to have vibrations that are too far apart from one another, so they were not that useful to me. The vibrations were nice, but they definitely were not strong enough. Even on level 6, they were just not enough for me.

The controls are sort of easy to use. You have to really feel around with your hand to find the "+" and "-" buttons. If you're worried about someone walking in on you, this isn't a good toy. There's no way in hell to find those buttons in a split second. This isn't a problem for me, because I'm married. It's still annoying when I want to higher the vibration, and I can't find the "+" button.

This toy is labeled as waterproof, but even when closed tightly I found water got inside of the battery compartment. It did not ruin the toy, but I did realize that a better term would be "splashproof". You can't use this one in a full bathtub. So, just know that ahead of time. It is tempting, though.

The Insigno is quite loud. It can easily be heard through my bedroom door. My husband heard me playing the other night, and I was laughing because he was asleep on the couch in the living room. Our bedroom is all the way down the hall. It wasn't anything that would alarm him. He thought it was the ice machine in the freezer. So, it could be mistaken for an appliance. The noise level bothered me, though. I can't relax when a toy is too loud.

Care and Maintenance

The Insigno runs on 2 AA batteries, which don't last you too long. It already comes with 2 AA batteries for your first use. Those run out far quicker than Duracell, so I recommend buying back-up. I would say that each pair of Duracells lasted me about 15 minutes on level 6. On level 3 a pair of batteries lasted about 25 minutes. I'm more of a person who prefers to play for a long time, so having batteries run out right when you're about to climax just pisses me off.

As far as cleaning, I recommend getting some toy wipes. The EdenWipes work just fine. My friend gave a pack of them to me with this toy, and that's what I use to clean this one. There's not really anywhere that anything can build up, so that is not an issue.

Just make sure to use water-based lubricant, since this is a silicone toy. Other lubricants will break down the silicone, and that is never fun.

I store my Insigno in a toy pouch that I purchased a while back. It zips up, making the toy easy to remove. I tried to keep it in one of my other drawstring pouches, but the heavy drag of the silicone made it almost impossible to remove.

Packaging

The SinFive Insigno comes in a white box that features a picture of the vibe on the front. Inside is a user's manual, 2 AA batteries, and a plastic shell. The plastic shell, unfortunately, will not fit back over the toy once it has been removed. That will not be any means of storage if that's what you were planning. You could keep the paper box for storage if you really needed to.

    • Recyclable

Experience

I am not satisfied with this vibe at all. I'm actually throwing it out as soon as my new vibrator gets here. It's hard to insert, not fully waterproof, and the vibrations are weaker than my cell phone.
Follow-up commentary
I know I'm never going to find a decent use for this toy. I won't ever like it. It's just too bendable and it wouldn't even be good for anal because it's so thick. This one is just a dud and there's nothing I can do about it. (Makes a sad face.) Darn.
