The Insigno has six different vibration functions. There are three speeds, from low to high. There are also three vibration patterns. This is my first toy with patterns, so it was fun to try out. The first pattern goes back and forth from slow to fast, in a more slow manner. The second pattern goes back and forth from slow to fast, quickly. The third pattern goes back and forth from slow to fast in a more rollercoaster manner. It's more random. I prefer the toy on high, or the second pattern.
I absolutely am in love with the controls for the Insigno. I had to search the instruction booklet to find the controls, because they are that well hidden and out of the way. On the side of the toy, near the bottom, there is a small raised plus (+) and minus (-) sign. To operate the buttons, you just push on either one, and it clicks easily. To turn the toy on, you push the plus symbol. Push once for low, twice for medium, three times for high, then the fourth, fifth and sixth time you push, will be for the 3 patterns. To shut the toy off, you hold the minus sign for a few seconds until it turns off.
The Insigno was surprisingly quiet for the amount of power that was behind the toy. Even on high, you would be safe to use under a thick blanket or with the door closed. It was very quiet in my opinion. I had low music playing in the background and a fan going, and I could not even hear it at all myself while using it.
This toy is supposed to be waterproof. I have not fully submersed it in water yet, but it has gotten wet and seems to be holding up very well. Where the bottom comes off for the batteries, there is a pretty thick rubber seal, so it should hold up well in the water. It can also be used for temperature play. If you stick it in warm water for a few minute, you will have a nice, warm toy to use.
