G-spot vibrator discontinued

It's a Wonder

I have had a JoyDivision toy before and I was so exicted to have the opportunity to try another; they're high-quality, colorful, waterproof, silicone, quiet and decently powerful. What's not to love?! This toy is no exception, with the added benefit of pinpoint stimulation, varying texture, and a shaft that gradually increases in size - which means it's easy to find your sweetspot. I love this toy, but I do wish its vibrations were a little bit stronger as it's just barely enough to get me off.

Use

This gorgeous, unique toy comes from a company known for producing high-quality, original items of pleasure. I expected an enjoyable experience, of course, but a few things surprised me. Can I get a 'hallelujah' for pinpoint stimulation?!

I honestly believe that just about everyone would be able to enjoy this toy. The tip is easy to use, but if you don't adore focused vibrations, the head widens quickly into a surface that could stimulate the entire vulva. It isn't hard for me to press this toy up into my g-spot, which was entirely unexpected. The only thing this toy can't do is simultaneous g-spot and clitoral stimulation, and it wasn't meant to.

If and when you decide to try this toy, set aside some bath fun time. This toy performs just as well underwater as it does in between the sheets. Even though the box says 'water-resistant', I held it underwater for quite a while and it has suffered absolutely no damage or change in power.

The silicone drags along the skin so I highly recommend using a water-based lubricant, especially when inserting or thrusting.

While the power is strong enough for me, some women will find it a little too weak to satisfy their needs. The average or beginning toy user will most likely be happy with the power it does put out, alongside the quiet motor.

JoyDivision also guarantees a 5 year warranty on the materials of this toy.

Material / Texture

The silicone this toy is constructed from is somewhat tacky; not sticky, but I definitely need lube if I want to insert/thrust. I cannot stress this enough - USE LUBE. Otherwise it is easy to get frustrated, or it makes the toy feel like it's way too big. JoyDivision even includes a sample of their very own lube for use with the toy.

There is no smell or taste. The silicone is pure and high quality, as is the plastic base.

The texture is quite a bit more noticeable in person than it is in the picture on the site. It is gorgeous and I personally love it mostly because it's aesthetically pleasing. I can only feel it at the beginning of insertion, but it isn't painful or harsh. It's kind of interesting, and is a nice change from slimline vibes.

JoyDivision's silicone is also one of the most rigid kinds I've felt. The toy hardly flexes or gives.

Design / Shape / Size

The shape of this toy is unexpectedly wonderful. The tip comes to a point that is beyond perfect for pinpoint stimulation (my favorite) while the silicone is firm enough to press into my clit without it bending much.

The toy also has valleys along the shaft that make it look like a wave, and these add a small, sometimes unnoticeable texture. I love them, and I think people who might not like a lot of texture might like this. It's unusual to have texture running vertically up the shaft, versus the horizontal ridges that are commonly seen.

Beginners and advanced toy users would be able to appreciate this toy. It's something different, and the shaft that gradually increases in size is easy on all bodies. However, be careful when you're thrusting because it's easy to get more than you want/need.

One thing that surprised me was how the curved 'wave' at the top rubbed along my g-spot. Usually it takes a harsh angle for me to get any g-spot stimulation but somehow this one managed amazingly well, especially if I pushed the bottom down. By pushing the bottom down, the tip is thrust up against the tissue that makes up the g-spot. I imagine this is because the material is so firm - it's difficult to bend this toy at all.

The Wave isn't realistic but it also isn't very discrete because it has the tell-tale turn dial on the bottom. That said, any friend of mine who found this would be impressed by how unique it is.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The motor itself is somewhere in the middle of the toy, but the vibrations carry extremely well through the whole length of the toy. This is wonderful at the tip, but it sometimes makes my hand feel a little buzzy.

As for noise, it isn't bad at all. It won't be heard through some heavy covers, and probably not through a door. I always keep a radio on to be safe.

I have used this toy extensively in the bath because I read the 'water-resistant' label as being 'waterproof'. Looking back, that wasn't my smartest plan, but I had absolutely no problems. Despite holding under water for about 30 minutes (it was laying on the bottom when I wasn't using it) there was no damage, no change in vibration, nor water in the battery compartment when I was done. You can see where the silicone is attached to the plastic control at the bottom and it is very secure/waterproof. I'm writing this review days after I used it in water and there are no changes in the toy at all. However, I would say that if you were to use this exclusively underwater, I'd be worried that there was a chance it wouldn't last as long as it could.

The vibration control is a turn dial. Historically, these turn dials have always behaved badly (on cheaper toys), but JoyDivision does a great job with them. They lead to a smooth increase in power directly related to how far you turn the dial. The only problem is it can be hard to turn the dial if your fingers are lubed up.

Care and Maintenance

This toy is so easy to care for because it's waterproof. While I can't suggest dipping it in a pot of boiling water (I haven't tried it) or throwing it in the dishwasher (haven't tried that either), I can attest that it is indeed waterproof. If you want to boil it, I would say try to keep the gears on the bottom out of the hot water - try tongs. If using the dishwasher, maybe use the shortest cycle.

***It generally isn't recommended to put toys with vibration mechanisms in the dishwasher or boiling water***

Personally, hot water and a mild soap is more than enough to make this toy squeeky clean again. If you'd like to get a little more thoroughly clean, a 10% bleach solution could be sprayed on and washed off with soap.

When storing, don't allow the sillicone to touch other materials. It's okay for it to touch only toys that are 100% pure silicone. If it touches a mixed material or anything jelly, it's likely that they will effect each negatively.

You can store in a plastic or cloth bag to be safe - and cleaner because silicone does pick up lint.

As always, no silicone lubes with silicone toys. Water based is the only way to go! Lucky for you, Joydivision even includes a (BIG) sample of their water-based lube with the toy.

Packaging

This packaging is not discreet at all, considering the toy is show cased in clear plastic. It is, however, kinda fun and modern. The box is reflective silver and is covered with information about the toy in several different languages. JoyDivision is a German company, so on one side panel is info in English, and on the opposite side panel is the same info in German.

The toy itself sits inside a clear plastic clam shell that is held closed by a couple of snaps. The plastic is the size of the box which is a little too big for me to store easily. I also don't store my toy in the plastic inside the cardboard because it is somewhat hard to get the plastic clam shell to slide back into the cardboard box easily.

Included with the toy is a tube of JoyDivision's water-based lube, and a small catalog of all their toys.

I say it would make a fun gift because it presents the toy as something everyone would used, and makes it seems so fun and approachable. It presents it like sex toys are nothing to be ashamed about. You had toys as a kid, you can have toys now. It's not the classy LELO packaging, but it isn't risque - this is a package that most anyone could relate to.

Personal comments

The ONLY reason this toy didn't get five stars is because I think the vibrations should be a little stronger. I generally need a fairly strong, mid-deep vibration and this is barely strong enough. It takes time for me to get off with this toy, but it also isn't impossible. I would say that the vibration level is more like a 3.7 than a 4. The average user should find that this is just the right amount of strength but 'clits of steel' will be left wanting.

Experience

This one turned itself on in my purse a couple times because it's extremely easy to turn the dial, so watch out for that if you carry toys around as much as I do.
