Lace top fence net stockings - stockings discontinued by Leg Avenue - review by ToyGurl

I bought these stockings to go with my new Polka-Dot Mesh Corset. Unfortunately, these stockings did not fit me well at all. They only got up to about my knee (barely) with a lot of gentle tugging and stretching. I probably shouldn't say tugging, because I was trying to be as gentle as possible with these. Even my roommate tried one of these on and they barely fit her stick-skinny legs. "One Size Fits Most" is more like "One Size Fits Most Mannequins". Definitely not something for very tall women, or women with slightly thicker legs. My legs are not large at all and they still did not fit the bill.


The net on these broke very easily. As I pulled the second stocking up my leg my foot went right through the bottom. The toe area is made of your regular nylon material, and the net is literally fence-net. You'd think it would hold better, but it doesn't. I recommend these for one-time use and to be very careful when putting your heels on over these. This is assuming they didn't break while you put them on.


They do not work well with garters because they will snap as soon as you hook them. On the contrary, these stockings will not stay up on their own without the use of double sided undergarment tape. So it's more like a fail-fail, instead of a win-win. These are definitely not good if you're looking for something to wear to a party, or some stockings to complete that new outfit you bought to impress your partner. They probably wont make it out of the closet and onto your legs in one piece. I have cheap $1 pantyhose that lasted longer than these.


If yours don't break, and fit well, these should be gently washed in a lingerie bag on a cold, delicate cycle and hung to dry. I would not put these in a hot dryer or in the washer with a lot of clothes. They could easily fall apart before the cycle is over, and probably shrink in the dryer. You should also use a light detergent to preserve the dark black color.


I did wash these stockings just to be able to tell you how it all went in the review. I dried one, and hung one to dry. One of my stockings shrunk down to the size of a mid length sock (not past the knee), and the broken one that was hung to dry turned out fine except for 3 large holes. Not too different than they were when they went in, anyway.


When I washed them again with regular laundry soap (and not lingerie detergent) they lost a whole lot of color. Thus you should really try to find a detergent that is specifically designed for black clothes, or a lingerie detergent. Last time I checked, Frederick's of Hollywood and Victoria's Secret sells lingerie detergent. If you don't find anything there, JC Penney's certainly sells it in their intimates department.


Good luck with these! You'll need it! I suppose I could have gotten defective stockings, but I honestly doubt it looking at the price.

Obviously, this wasn't the best experience. Thankfully I didn't pay a bucketload for these, and got them 30% off for my review program. I am very disappointed that they didn't fit, because if they did they would look very sexy. Too bad they didn't. These stockings are more like socks that hardly go past your knees.

As you read in the review, these broke almost instantly, so there isn't much to say in a follow-up review. All I can say is that these belong on a very, very, very tiny girl.
