Not The Shade I Wanted, But Still Nice

If you are looking at buying Kissaholic, I recommend thoroughly reading reviews and the product's page before choosing a color. I picked one that was shimmery hot pink and received a "nude mauve" instead. Aside from that, this lip gloss does its job of plumping lips and feeling all tingly. The color is good yet still sheer and has tons of shine. The main ingredient in Kissaholic is mineral oil, which will dry out lips after a while.

After trying out the EroStick lip gloss by Kama Sutra, Booty Parlor’s Kissaholic lip gloss finally came back in stock in the flavor I wanted. I ordered the Passion Fruit flavor, which is shown as a hot pink with lots of shimmer in it. I really wish that I actually received that hot pink.

Kissaholic comes packaged in a small paperboard box not much larger than the lip gloss itself. The box is pale pink with “Kissaholic xoxo“ written on one side. Another side states that this is a plumping lip gloss with aphrodisiacs. The list of aphrodisiacs includes gingko biloba, ginger, passion flower, damiana, muira puama, and “the molecule of love.” One of the flaps to open the box shows the color of the lip gloss, which is a pinkish brown, nothing like the hot pink displayed on EdenFantasys. A final side displays the ingredient list.

Ingredients:

Mineral Oil, Polybutene, Butylene/Ethylene/Styrene Copolymer, Flavor (Aroma), Caprylyl Glycol, Isopentyldiol, Mentha Arvensis leaf Oil, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Tocopheryl Acetate, Hydrogenated Polyisobutene, Capsicum Frutescens Fruit Extract, Glycine Soja (Soybean) Oil, Zingiber Officinale (Ginger) Root Oil, Methyl Nicotinate, Castor Oil Bis-Hydroxypropyl Dimethicone Esters, Sodium Saccharin, Ethyl Methane Carboxamide, C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Phenylethylamine, Ptychopetalum Olacoides Bark Extract, Isohexadecane, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Oil, Calcium Sodium Borosilicate, Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Seed Oil, Ginkgo Biloba Leaf Extract, Turnera Diffusa Leaf Extract, Passiflora Incarnata Flower Extract, Zingiber Officinale (Ginger) Root Powder, Phenoxyethanol, Benzyl Benzoate, Geraniol, Benzyl Alcohol, Benzyl Salicylate, Eugenol, Isoeugenol, Linalool, Cinnamal, Limonene. May contain: (+/-) Mica, Titanium Dioxide (Cl 77891), Iron Oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499), Carmine (CI 75470), Red 6 Lake (CI 15850), Red 7 Lake (CI15850), Red 27 Lake (CI 45410), Bismuth Oxychloride (CI 77163), Red 28 Lake (CI 45410), Red 21 (CI 45380), Yellow 5 Lake (CI 19140), Manganse Violet (CI 77742), Tin Oxide (CI 77861).

This is a lot of ingredients for a small tube of lip gloss. I thought it was odd that mineral oil is the biggest ingredient in this lip gloss, but apparently this is fairly common. Mineral oil used in facial care products can clog pores and prevent moisturizing ingredients from reaching skin. Because of this, your lips may end up pretty dried out after use. Moisturizing ingredients like shea butter and natural oils are used in this product, but they won’t really get a chance to moisturize lips.

Opening the box, I pulled out an average sized glass tube of lip gloss. As I said before, this is displayed on EdenFantasys as a hot pink with lots of shimmer. What I received is a pinkish brown gloss with no shimmer visible in the tube. This is pretty disappointing. I ordered hot pink because hot pink is the color that looks best on my lips. Brownish lip glosses just look bad with my skin tone and hair color. If you look at the product page, the lip gloss I received looks exactly like the one listed as being peppermint flavored. However, when I scroll further down the page, peppermint is supposed to be the sparkly gloss I wanted and passion fruit is a nude mauve. Unfortunately, I went by the pictures, as I usually do when selecting which color/flavor I want.

The tube is glass with a black plastic screw on lid. It has Kissaholic written on it, as well as Booty Parlor. The lid has bp written on it and the bottom of the tube has a sticker with the name of the color, which is Sigh. Attached to the lid is a brush for the lip gloss. Normally lip gloss tubes come with a fuzzy, hard ended brush that applies lip gloss very evenly without gooping it in certain spots. This one comes with a brush end like that of nail polish.

Kissaholic is a little difficult to apply because of the brush. I keep getting way too much on my lips in some spots, with barely any in others. It takes a bit of maneuvering with my lips and the brush to get it spread evenly. Once applied, lips will have quite a bit of color on them. This shade does not have any shimmer. It is just a shiny nude mauve. This lip gloss does have a tingling sensation to it, which is pleasant. After a few minutes, the tingling sensation does seem to do something to plump up my lips.

During wear, Kissaholic feels smooth and soft on lips. It doesn’t get sticky. It has tons of shine to it. It’s also sweet and fruity scented. I did not notice any fruit flavor to it. Licking it just makes my tongue tingle a little bit.

Experience
After a few hours of wear, I do notice this does dry out on lips and gets a bit icky. I usually wipe it off and just put on lip balm. I don’t feel this gloss offers any extended amounts of plumping. My lips only seem fuller when this lip gloss is actually on them. This does come off pretty easily when eating or drinking.

I think Kissaholic would make a pretty good gift. It covers lips pretty well, while making them feel all tingly and looking fuller. It would look nice if presented with other Booty Parlor products. The packaging does not say anything about sexual products and does not look like it comes from a sex toy store.

I don’t particularly care for the glass tube Kissaholic comes in. I would prefer plastic, since I like to throw my lip glosses in my purse. I have a lot of stuff in there that this lip gloss would be banging into when I’m carrying my purse around. I wouldn’t want to risk breaking the tube. I also don’t like the brush they included. Kissaholic also gets too dry and icky feeling on my lips after a while, probably because the mineral oil is suffocating my lips. Other than that, I think this is a good lip gloss.

I'm giving this 4 stars, even though this isn't the shade I wanted.
Follow-up commentary
After trying the nude-mauve Passion Fruit lip gloss, I received the Peppermint flavor as a gift from my Secret Santa. This shade is what I originally wanted. When applied, it gives my lips a nice tint of hot pink, but it is much more sheer than the Passion Fruit gloss. It also has some glitter in it. Between the two, I prefer the Peppermint. The hot pink is a little more flattering to my skin tone and eye/hair color. It has a very light peppermint flavor, much lighter than the passion fruit flavor of the other gloss. The tingling sensation from the plumping ingredients can be felt just as easily.
