The Pirates Hidden Pleasure Vibe is a small, traditional vibe. It doesn't have any bells and whistles other than it's design and packaging. It's an affordable, useful vibrator for those who don't need much in terms of size or vibration strength. This could be an option for those who are beginners or are looking for their first toy. This might also appeal to those who like funky toys, since this one is pirate themed. If you happen to be a sucker for packaging, then this toy might be a cute addition for you.

The Pirate vibe is on the weaker side but it is quite silent. If you live in close proximity to others this could work for you. While not waterproof, the Pirate vibe is splash proof, so you could use it one the opposite side of the shower head. Overall, this vibe can be used for vaginal play, foreplay, and teasing of the erogenous zones. The external anal entrance can be stimulated, but this toy should not be used for anal play. It is both small, smooth, and lacks and flared base; this makes it a recipe for disaster and embarrassment.

Design & Size

There are a couple of things that make the Pirate vibe a bit different from the standard run-of-the-mill vibrator. One is that there are some cool designs on the toy. If you get the pink toy, you'll see what looks like silver embossed swirls that might remind you of rolling waves or vines. If you look at the swirly pattern, you'll also see where the placement of the pattern starts and ends. At the end, it's cut off; if you draw a line down from this point, you'll see all the swirls cut.



This doesn't really remove from the appearance of the toy though (just OCD noting it). The black Pirate vibe does not appear to have this swirly style (if I go by the given stock photos). Instead, you'll see a silvery skull in a heart with a crown (the symbol for this line of toys). Overall, the design on the pink toy is cute and non intimidating.

The same goes for the size of the toy. The Pirate vibe is on the smaller side of toys. It is 5 inches long with an insertable length of 3.75 inches. Size queens will scoff at this one, but beginners might be interested. The circumference of the toy is on the smaller side as well at 3.25 inches. For comparison, the average circumference of vaginal toys tends to be about 4.25 to 4.5 inches. This makes the toy easy to hide if you space is a concern. If you don't wish to bring the packaging on your journeys, this toy can easily hide in a sock, be stowed in a purse, or even placed in a cargo pants pocket.



That is the second potential benefit of the toy: its packaging. The toy comes with a plastic treasure chest. Lift the top and you'll see the toy inside. The box is very discreet. It in no way screams sex toy. If you wanted, you could probably put a few small candies or a pen in the treasure trove. It's cute and if you remove the toy, no one would know it was with a sex toy. It could make a funky desk or dresser addition.

Functions & Controls

The controls are easy for this toy. The base has a single push button that does everything. Push the button once and the toy turns on the lowest setting. Push it again for the medium setting, a third time for the high setting, and a final time to turn it off. The vibrations are not very intense. The low setting is 1 Vroom, the medium is maybe 2 Vrooms, and the highest setting is maybe a "high" 2 Vrooms. This can work for the sensitive user. If anyone needs a solid (high) 3 Vrooms or more, then this won't cut it.

If traveling with this toy, it is best to remove the batteries; it is possible that the toy can turn on since the button could be accidentally pushed. The Pirate vibe takes 1 AA battery. The battery lasts well. As stated the toy is not marked as waterproof, but splash proof. I have been able to place the toy in the shower and run it on the side opposite of the shower head with no ill effects. If you need something you want to submerge, this is not the best option.

The one benefit is that this toy is very quite. It's a low 2 Bees, even lower when inserted. It is discreet.

Care & Packaging

Because the toy is smooth, cleaning is easy. Toy wipes, spray, and soap and water are all options. Be careful not to submerge the toy in water or get the base wet. Once dry, the toy can be stored in its little treasure chest. If storing for long periods of time, it's best to remove the batteries from the toy.



The packaging the vibe initially comes in is not discreet. It's pretty standard, transparent, plastic packaging. The treasure chest is separate from the toy in the first packaging. It's typical toy shop display. The treasure chest is intended for long term storage. If you have a newbie friend, this is a cute, non-intimidating option for them to try.

Experience & Comments

I'll admit: I only bought this toy on the Facebook Friends sale. I never would have considered it otherwise. At 70 percent off (or 8 bucks) I figured the toy was worth trying as a potential gift for friends. For me, I figured this toy would be to weak and boring. I am a sucker for nice packaging. I find it funny that this 20 or so dollar toy has better packaging than some toys that are over 130 dollars. I like the packaging more so than the toy itself.

The vibrator is not bad. It's just not anything special. It's more of a stepping stone toy in my eyes. If you happen to nab it on an awesome sale, it's worth a grab if you're a collector. The treasure chest could even be used to store other, more favored toys if you wanted.
