Fleshlights are pretty well known, high quality male masturbators. Both my husband and I have been curious to try one for quite a while now. First impression for me was that the Fleshlight itself was a lot larger than I had imagined it’d be. The case stands 10” tall, and it’s quite big around too. While the idea of it looking like a flashlight attempts to make this discreet, keep in mind that it’s doubtful this would be the size of any of your flashlights at home. It also comes in a tin but that tin is anything but discreet, as there are shadows of naked women on the tin. It’s great for storage, but put it in a drawer if you need discretion.

Once we got past the size and opened the screw off cap I have to say the sight of the lips wasn’t exactly a turn on for me. Finally we decided it was time to actually try the Fleshlight out. Now, the packaging advises to check the interior for a plastic rod in the center of the sleeve. Ours did not come with one, but definitely make sure that you check for one before use. If not I’d have to imagine a rod would cause some serious pain if left in there! The packaging also gives some tips on how to make the experience better or more realistic. You can take the sleeve out and soak it in some warm water before use so that it’s not chilly when sliding into it. This definitely helps it to feel more realistic and more like the inviting sensation of a woman’s waiting mouth. The sleeve itself is very squishy and stretchy, and when warmed it did feel pretty realistic. Once we had it prepped and ready to go I slipped in some lube for him. I have to say I felt pretty odd dripping lube down this mouth and throat. Make sure you only use water based lubricant on your Fleshlights, any other kind can ruin the SuperSkin. Fleshlight gives you a generous sample which can get you through a few uses.

Before I go on to what my husband thought about the toy in use, I want to take a few moments to describe the inner texture. Fleshlight as I said has many different styles and this is not only for the exterior but for the interior as well. The Jenna Haze mouth comes equipped with the Swallow texture, which is designed to give a deep throating experience. Once you get past the plush lips you find about an inch and a half down there is small little nodules and then some ribbing beyond those. Pretty deep into the sleeve you’ll find larger nodules, which are the same as is used for the STU texture. For most men this is going to be about where it ends, but those larger endowed can make better use of the ultra-tight sleeve at the far end of the sleeve.

We started off having my husband use the Fleshlight himself. At first he wasn’t really impressed, and mentioned that his Vibratex Maven is much better. Thing is though, he's not really into longer sessions, and we both felt that Fleshlights, at least this texture, is better for those that like a slower build up. My husband prefers masturbation to be a quick release. For comparison we tried switching to the Maven for a bit and he was near orgasm just about as soon as he started using that one. The thing with the Fleshlight is that there's a learning curve, and if you’re used to using sleeves where you can feel yourself through them it’s definitely a new experience. After a few more goes with the Fleshlight we’ve found what works best for us. With a soft sleeve you can adjust the pressure very easily by tightening or loosening your grip. With a Fleshlight you need to adjust the suction with the screw off bottom and adjust the angle you’re thrusting at to change the sensation. He also wasn’t too fond of the ribs, saying he couldn’t really feel them much, but did like the nodules part. This also makes sense when you think of the Maven which is lined with these nodules along the entire sleeve. If the interior had been filled with the nodules, we both think it would have been more instant gratification.

Some feel that caring for the Fleshlight is a lot of work, but I found it easy. You just need to unscrew the bottom, take out the sleeve and then rinse out all the parts. You want to just use warm water; no soap should be used as it can ruin the SuperSkin material. Once you have everything rinsed leave it out to dry before putting all the pieces back together. I also liked that it could be stood on its base and wait to be cleaned for a bit. There was no rush to the bathroom because of a sleeve that would leak if it was set down. Just don’t wait too long, you don’t want anything to dry up and then be harder to clean!

Do we love Fleshlights? I'm not sure. It was fun to use it but I personally prefer using a soft sleeve on him as I like to be able to feel his cock through the sleeve, it just feels more intimate. He also liked the sleeve better, but we think that has more to do with the texture of this particular sleeve. Fleshlights are a bit of an investment and since different interior textures will provide completely different experiences it’s important to get one you like.
