About author

Mistress Lorelei is the author of The Mistress Manual, The Charm School for Sissy Maids and other various pieces of BDSM literature. I never read her work before but after reading The Manual, I will certainly seek out her other works. Mistress Lorelei is also known as Lorelei Powers, and Ms. Lorelei. She can also be followed on Twitter under the name MsLorelei.

Content / Style / Audience

The Mistress Manual is written in a freeform style. The chapters are divided as such that you are able to skip through and read any passages that you find appropriate for the time/moment. There is no defined way in which you should read The Manual. It is very easy to turn to a random chapter and become engaged in what Mistress Lorelei has to say about a certain topic. Reading the first five chapters is not necessary if what interests you most happens to be in chapter 6, or 10!

The writing style is very down to earth and easy to comprehend. The Mistress Manual is good for short reading sessions as well. Many of us don't have time to devote to reading every day, although we should, but the Manual is good for short spurts of reading as well as longer sit- down sessions. The main audience of this book are those women that find themselves interested in female domination but may not be sure of where to begin or what the man (or men) in their life want. This book will give you a great starting point for a female dominated fantasy and will also give you other brain storming ideas so you can create your very own personal fantasy that is tailored to your exact wants and needs.

Design

This is a great paperback book- well organized in it's style and thought out regarding chapters. The binding of the paperback is a glue based binding. The cover is nice and glossy and the pages are smooth and soft and do not irritate my fingers when holding the book, as some lower quality paper seems to do. The cover design is subtle and charming while also being erotic enough to catch the readers attention. The small size of The Mistress Manual also makes it perfect for putting into an overnight bag!

Personal comments

The Mistress Manual is meant to be read by women only. There is a part of the book that instructs the reader to not let a male get his hands on your precious copy of this book, unless he indulges your fantastic fantasies. So when you get this book, make sure to hide it away or trust the man (or men) in your life enough to respect your privacy when you ask him not to flip through it. For his sake, really!

Nice! I actually wishlisted this one! I think it could be very interesting, even if it didn't give someone "new ideas." Sounds like it might be good even for those who have little left to learn on this topic. I love that there's no obscene crap on the front! That makes this a book I could leave on my shelf by the bed. Thanks for the info on this one!
