The perfect book for a new Domme

Mistress Lorelei is an author I had never read anything by before, but now that I have read this book, I'll be on the look out for any other book she has written.

This is a very well written book. I love that it's written in such a way that you don't have to read it from front to back. You can jump around from chapters that pique your interest without getting lost or confused. Of course, you can read it from cover to cover as well. Even if you do decide to read it by flipping through random chapters, you just may end up reading the whole book like I did because this book offers so much to learn about femdom.

Another benefit of this book is that it's far from being intimidating. It's almost as if a friend and you are having a causal (but very intriguing) conversation over drinks. And if any part of the book becomes intimidating, you can always just skip over that section to another one. Then maybe down the road come back when it's not so scary anymore.

Overall, the book is good for everyone: New, experienced, or people on the outside. For the new woman who has never done anything like this but wants to learn, it'll tell you everything you need to get started. For those who been a dominatrix for a bit, it's always good to brush up on the basics. Sometimes looking back at the basics will inspire new ideas as well. For people who don't want to partake in this kind of thing but are interested in why others do, this book would be a great read for them to help shed some light as to why and how. Who knows, maybe it'll intrigue you enough to take a crack at it yourself.

It's a paperback that's put together well enough to survive being dropped into a bathtub full of water (phone calls always happen at the worse time!) without much damage. Just the edges of the pages have the wavy thing going on that happens when paper gets wet and dries. Paperbacks in general tend to not survive me, but this book has. So it's well made.

The cover isn't exactly discreet. It has a woman's crossed legs with "The Mistress Manual" written in big letters on it. If you take it out in public, people will either know what it's about or assume you're learning how to be a "home wrecker." On a bookshelf, it may blend in with the rest of your books if you only see the binding. Even than it still may stick out, depending on what else is on your bookshelf.

Despite being a dominant person everywhere else in my life, when it came to the bedroom, I become an extremely shy person. I've always had a interest in being dominant in bed but that pesky shyness would rear its ugly head. This book has helped with that. I still have a bit of shyness, but I've gotten a whole lot better about it than I was before and am slowly overcoming the rest of it.
