And a lovely story it is

Carrie's Story is a great read for those who enjoy BDSM erotica. It is easy to read, and not overdone as some books are.

Content / Style / Audience

Carrie's Story was written for anyone with even the slightest interest in BDSM or even just a bit of kinkiness. I was engulfed by the author's ability to bring you right into Carrie's mind. The reader gets to see the inside of the lifestyle through the eyes of a young woman, and that offered a unique perspective. I enjoyed seeing her thoughts; honestly, at times, I felt for her. There were several spots in Carrie's Story where I found myself asking the same questions she did. I think the author did a good job of pulling in her audience, although, I would have liked seeing more male submissives because I thought they were greatly underrepresented.

I am more drawn to the entire lifestyle than to a fun time in bed, and Carrie's Story sparked my interest immediately. Rather than being a short story that ends with Carrie being who she was before her adventure (as she called it), this was a book about a new life she chose. I loved being taken back to step one to see just how her Master found her; I must add though, it was a bit stereotypical and even cheesy (I really think the author could have been a bit more creative here). To me, the ending left a lot to be desired, but that is just me.

Overall I was left with a wonderful impression, and a deep urge for impact play.

Design

The only issues I had while reading were when she jumped back to the very beginning to explain her whole story. I was a little lost when we got back to present day, but that could have just been me.

Overall, however, it was easy to follow. A very easy read, I think I finished it in under three hours (it isn't a very long book, really). I would have liked to see more difficulty in the reading level, but that is just the literature lover in me peeking out and critiquing the book.

The author does a nice job of pulling the reader into Carrie's life.

I always enjoy reading your reviews. Nice job. It sounds like a really awesome book. I know a girl, her name is Carey. She is about the same. I love that girl.

I'm sorry, this review didn't help me much. I'm not even for sure clear on if this is fiction or non-fiction. what exactly is the story about? You gave it four stars, but all I got was that its about some girl into BDSM?

That is basically what it is. If I got into the entire plot I would be giving the entire book away. It is about a girl who found herself in the world of BDSM and the adventures she finds there. Like I said, if I tell you any of what happens it will give away the whole book. I guess that is a down fall of shorter books with less content. It isn't a love story or anything, just a book about a girl and her story.

Ok I can understand that. Well what about the back of the book where a "sneek peek summary" usually is. Is there one?

I totally never noticed you reviewed this. I absolutely loved Carrie's Story. I had to go right out and buy "Safe Word" which is the sequel. It was an amazing book. Great review.
