Being blue isn't that bad

When you use this product it's like having a bath tub of exotic flowers. It is so nice, and the color was so pretty. I am in love, so much so that I am going to order a few of the other aromas.

Use

The Dona sensual chromotherapy bath treatment Blue Lotus is a product in the Dona line from the company System JO. In the Dona line each product is infused with aphrodisiacs. This is designed to relax you in a hot bath. How, you may ask, does this work with the use of chromotherapy? It turns your bath tub water blue, without staining the tube or you (As long as you don't apply directly to the skin.) Chromotherapy is sometimes called color therapy, colorology or cromatherapy. It is the use of color and light to gently bring about homeostasis. What is homeostasis you ask? Homeostasis is a state of equilibrium, in which all body systems are working and interacting in an appropriate way to fulfill all the needs of the the body.

I think anyone that needs to relax should try this in their next bath. Along with chromotherapy I think that the aroma of of the Blue Lotus is very relaxing. If you have sensitive skin or have reactions to similar products I would check out the ingredients before you buy or use this to make sure you will be okay. The ingredients are Purified Water (Aqua), Fragance, PPG-25 Buteth-26, Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexlglycerin, May Contain: FD&C Red #40, FD&C Green #4, FD&C Yellow #5, FD&C Yellow #6, FD#C Blue #1.

PPG-25 Buteth-26 is a part of the PPG Buteth ingredient group, used in cosmetics and skin care formulas because of its ability to restore the appearance of dry, damaged skin and hair by reducing flaking and improving suppleness. It is also used as a fragrance ingredient and surfactant. It is a widely used ingredient but is seen mostly in cleansing products, including bubble baths and other bath products, shampoos and other hair products, skin fresheners, skin cleansers, and shaving products.

Hydrogenated Castor Oil is made by pressing beans from the castor plant and retrieving the oils that are produced. Once the oil has been harvested, it is exposed to hydrogen gas, which makes the liquid oil turn into a thick, wax-like substance that is more stable at room temperature. Hydrogenated castor oil also is known as castor wax.

Phenoxyethanol is an organic chemical compound, a glycol ether often used in dermatological products such as skin creams and sunscreen. It is a colorless, oily liquid.

Ethylhexylglycerin is a conditioning agent and preservative. Two studies have found it to be a skin irritant, even at low concentrations, so people with sensitive skin may experience contact dermatitis. In addition, it is an eye irritant in animal studies. Reactions are typically low.

Fast Green FCF, also called Food green 3, FD&C Green No. 3, Green 1724, Solid Green FCF, and C.I. 42053, is a sea green triarylmethane food dye.

Tartrazine is a synthetic lemon yellow azo dye primarily used as a food coloring. It is also known as E number E102, C.I. 19140, FD&C Yellow 5, Acid Yellow 23, Food Yellow 4, and Trisodium 1--4--5-pyrazolone-3-carboxylate

FD&C Yellow 6 is a synthetic dye produced from petroleum; this dye is FDA-approved for use in food, pharmaceuticals and cosmetics.

Brilliant Blue FCF, also known under commercial names, is a colorant for foods and other substances to induce a color change. It is denoted by E number E133 and has a color index of 42090. It has the appearance of a reddish-blue powder.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

When I think of this product as in texture and consistency, food coloring comes to mind. Basically that is what it looks like. It is really easy to pour, and it is watery but almost looks oily. It almost makes the water feel like it is full of a moisturizer. This is meant to be ran in your bath water and will not stain your tub, but I did get some on my finger and there was a blue stain there for a while. I did not have an oily, sticky, or greasy feel when I got out of the tub.

Taste / Aroma

I love the smell of the Blue Lotus Dona sensual chromotherapy bath treatment, it reminds me of a big vase of flowers. The aroma lasted the whole bath, and I didn't notice it fade at all. It is amazing because I really didn't think that it was going to last, but it did. The whole bathroom smelled so good. I think that one of the keys to relaxing with this product is that the aroma is so soothing. Its almost like you are transported into a jungle of exotic flowers.

There was no reason for me to taste this product, so I didn't.
    • Smells good

Performance

I added two cap fulls to my running bath water. I could smell it as soon as I opened the bottle. It did turn my water a very pretty blue. The pictures to not do it justice. If you would like a deeper blue I am sure you could add another cap full or two. The smell lasted the whole 30 minute bath that I took.

I did feel really relaxed. I had the perfect time to use it with no kids or husband to bother me. I did not feel the affect of the aphrodisiac, or at least I don't think I did. It was a great bath.

One little note; when I was pouring the treatment into the bath it ran down the bottle and got on my hands. I recommend you be cautious when pouring so that it does not drip onto your clothing, bath mats, or your skin. It did leave a blue mark for a while on my skin.

Experience

I bought this for my mother, but told her that I needed to test it before she could have it. We both love the smell and both were really relaxed after each one of our baths.
Follow-up commentary
Mom still loves it, I am ordering her more. I think that I am going to get a few different scents this time. She loved the Blue Lotus, we just want to see if the others stand up to it.
