Universal toy cleaner - toy cleanser by Cal Exotics - review by J's Alley

Do you clean your toys with soap?

A good cleaner, especially for the price. I have used this since 2004. I've had the same bottle for over 6 months, with very frequent use.
Inexpensive, anti-bacterial, safe for all toys.
Lack of directions, lack of ingredient ratios.

I certainly don't recommend soap and hot water to clean intimate toys. For one, the glycerin in soap can leave you with some unpleasant feelings later. If you do use soap and water I suggest you switch. This is a good place to start.

I have been using this on my toys for over 5 years now. It is the most common cleaner I have seen. I am sure it isn't the absolute best top of the line cleaner, but most of my toys are nonporous, so I am not too concerned with that.

There are no instructions on the bottle but, the first time I ever bought it was in a shop so, I was given decent instructions: Rinse the toy, the spray it, lather and clean, then rinse clean. Simple as that, just like soap, but safer.

The one unfortunate thing is that because it's in a bottle, you can end up spraying far more than you need. I do this all the time. I am pretty quick to clean up and so when I spray, often times I will miss and spray the wall, faucet, mirror, or whatever (on the upside those things are always clean). Because of this, you may go through the bottle quicker than you need to. I try to keep my hand under the toy and open so I will spray my hand, then I can just scrub away.

I do believe that the packaging needs to include directions, and a list of percentage ingredients, so we know what exactly we are spraying on the toys.

A big upside? Every shop I have ever been in recommends this product, so there must be something to it, plus I love that it lathers. Somehow the lathering makes me feel like my toys are squeaky clean.

I absolutely recommend this to anyone buying their first toy, even to those who have 50 toys. For newer toy buyers, always be sure to have a cleaner available. This one is anti-bacterial so you know you are caring for your purchase. It will keep the toys in tact, and clean them thoroughly. You can keep it in your medicine cabinet, facing another direction, and most people will be none the wiser. Storing it with your toys will work too, since it is a spray with a lid, no big leaking issues.
Follow-up commentary
I still use this cleaner to clean all my toys. I like knowing that I am cleaning my toys with a high quality cleaner that is meant to be used as a toy cleaner. They are well maintained and clean, and since the cleaner is meant for toys it holds the integrity of the toy materials well.
