Pheromones lotion - lotion discontinued by Cal Exotics - review by Red Riding Hood

This is a basic massage lotion that has pheromones added to the formula. It's fairly decent for most skin types and hasn't given myself or anyone I've used it on any trouble. It's almost like a regular lotion with a little more slip. It absorbs into the skin leaving it smooth and hydrated. It is generally a decent product, especially for the money. This COULD irritate sensitive skin types, so monitor your reaction when first using this product.

The consistency is quite nice with this product. It resembles a standard lotion and is a bit on the thin-side. This isn't a bad thing, because with the oils in the formula, this lotion has a lot of slip. This allows you to get a good glide without using a lot of product. It isn't so thin that it is runny, but it's thin enough that a little goes a long way. It doesn't have a greasy feel to it, which is a plus. I've used massage creams, lotions and oils and most have a greasy feel after use. This absorbs into the skin quite nicely.

The taste is awful and to be honest, I only tasted it for the sake of the review. This scent is very herbal and smells like something you could cook with. That said, you do NOT want to eat this. It just tastes like you got cologn on something you were eating. The scent is strong enough without being overpowering. I got the Citrus Basil scent, but there is a choice between that and two others. The one I got smelled very clean and had a unisex-type of scent. I don't think it's too manly for women and it's not too girly for the menfolk. As far as the pheromones, I cannot really tell anything is different and I have not noticed a difference in response from others.

Generally, I like how this works. I had mentioned the texture earlier, and because this lasts without having to gob it on, you can get a decent about of time in with about a quarter-sized dollop. This, of course, depends on the size of the area you are massaging. You also don't have to worry about it getting sticky as you go along. You just add more lotion and continue the rub-down. I like this product so much, I wear it as a regular lotion. I apply it very lightly and add as needed in dry spots. It goes on wonderfully and I love the scent.

This comes in a short bottle with a flip-top lid. The lid makes it fairly easy to pour. The bottle is easy to grip and a decent size. It does get a little tricky once your hands get slippery with the product, but I think that's to be said about any plastic bottle. There are some general tidbits of information on the label, but nothing that is extremely useful. Just your basic product information. I think this would be fine for travel, aside from the flip lid. I would be concerned that it would come open during transit.

The only "special feature" of this product is the fact that it is a pheromone product. Don't get too excited, though. I haven't noticed anything with myself when it comes to this feature. My mood doesn't really change. I do love the scent because it is unique, but there's nothing that makes me feel warm and amorous. All the same, I haven't noticed anything different with anyone else, either.
