Not For Me But Others May Love It

All things considered, this is an OK candle. I didn't personally like it, but it has a few good things going for it as written in my pros list. Would I recommend it? No, I would not due to the things listed in the cons list. Do I think others would enjoy it? Most likely.

I was super excited to try this product because I already loved this brand and the scent of almonds is one of my favorite all-time scents! When I received it, I opened it immediately and LOVED the way it smelled prior to burning. So, I decided to light it.

One thing I noticed immediately is that it does NOT throw scent into the room at all. In fact, because the tin is solid metal and black, you do not even realize it is lit at all. A glow is not casted off and there is no scent while burning at all. I let it burn for about 2 hours too, but nothing. I also noticed that it tends to burn down the middle and not melt to the edges. There is going to be a lot of wax left over that never melts. That is a waste of money because if it doesn't melt, you can't use it as a massage oil.

Once I had a pool of oil available to me, I used the little plastic spoon that came in the lid and dipped some oil out into my palm. The oil was pleasantly warm and did not burn me at all. It felt great working it into my hands too. It was very light and oily, and not waxy at all. Even when it cooled to the temperature of my hands, it stayed in oil form. I applied it to my husband's neck and shoulders. I loved the way it worked into his skin and felt. He also loved the way it felt and said that it soaked in and did not leave him feeling greasy or waxy.

After I was done, I just rubbed the oil into my hands and arms as you would with any oil. About 15 minutes later, I kept smelling this horrid floral smell. Hubby complained too that he was smelling it. Turns out, it was the massage oil. Once it cooled down, all almond scent was gone and it was replaced with a horrible floral smell. We both HATE floral anything, so others may not find this objectionable. I, however, ordered the almond scent and expected it to smell of almonds not flowers. I had to wash it off of my husband's neck because it bothered him so much. About 30 minutes later, my hands started to get red and itchy. I had an allergic reaction to it! I had to wash my hands twice with hot water and mild soap to get the scent gone and the itching under control. I am guessing I was allergic to whatever scent oil they used, as shea butter and coconut oil are not things I am allergic to.

Thanks for the review. It sucks that it didn't actually smell like almonds. I can imagine that would be a much more pleasant scent for a massage.
