This is a lovely portable pack of eyeshadow colors in powder form. A double applicator is included in the packaging. Women who like to touch up their makeup during the day will appreciate the convenient size of this item as it will fit into all but the smallest of purses. If you travel frequently you will like this as you can toss several colors in your bag and have multiple choices during your time away from home.

These eyeshadow powders are NOT hypoallergenic, so if you do purchase this read the ingredients to see if you know of any sensativities. If you tend to have sensative skin, I would not choose this for you. It does contain parabens, a know allergen to many.

These eyeshadow colors are smooth and powdery--similar to other powder eyeshadows you have probably used. The Mrs. has a neutral cream eyeshadow that she applies all over her eye from the upper lashes to the eyebrows that makes any powder shadow stay in place for extended periods of time. She found that these colors performed equal to the brand (which I do not think I can mention) she usually purchases.

She liked having several colors in one place, especially for times when we are not at home. It cuts down on the cosmetics she needs to carry.

Who eats eye shadow? Maybe they can tell you, but I do not recommend eating or tasting this product. As far as smell, there is a faint, non-descript odor that is only noticeable if you put your nose up to the palette and take a deep whif. In normal use you will not smell anything.

The Mrs. does not usually wear makeup every day, but has now worn these eyeshadows 4 days which I think is an adequate test for a first review. I will wait for any follow up comments.

They were easy to apply and came off easily with her usual makeup remover towelettes (they come in a lavendar package if that helps guess the brand!!). She also washed her face with a liquid, non soap and that worked well also. She does not use soap on her face, but the soap washed the colors off her hands so I am guessing it would also work on the face.

The nature of the powder shadows is nice because you will not find any residue on the sink or where ever you apply. It is not a liquid so there is no chance of it tipping and splilling. I am sure if you knocked it off the counter or dropped it, the circles many come out of place and break up, but that is true of any delicate product, makeup or not.

There are 8 circles of color in a very pretty, flowery package suitable for carrying in your purse for touchups on the go--whether it is a day at the office, beach or a night on the town, you will find this pretty and convenient to have with you. A double applicator is included however, you may find your clean fingertips more convenient. Using the applicator, the Mrs. found that the colors stick to it and you do not get the true color but rather a mix of the colors which form a new color. This is especially apparent with the "shine"--a white, shimmery shade that easily picks up the other colors in this palette. Cotton swabs also come in handy for applying the individual colors.

On the down side, there is no mirror included so that you need to be someplace that has a mirror for use--a ladies' room or the car come to mind. This can be inconvenient if you would rather just pull it out and apply where ever.

The 8 colors in the PEONY palette (there are 3 palettes available) are: Sweet Pea--a very pale pink/lavendar; Bloom--a true, deep pink; Nectar--a medium brown with a hint of pink; Shine--a white shimmer with an almost non-detectable hint of blue; Tulip--a light pink; Trellis--a wine with a hint of brown (similar to the Nectar but darker and more "purpley" than "pinky"); Ginger--medium brown and Petunia--a medium true pink.

These colors are put together by the manufacturer as compatible and can be mixed and matched to your taste. I would not begin to offer any application suggestions, but I am sure any one interested in this has ideas of their own!!

The Mrs. says that most makeup counters in department stores have consultants that are happy to help you if you need any suggestions. Just a thought/tip for you.
