There's a health food store in my pants.

"Intimate odors" are a natural part of intimate activities. While they're not the worst thing in the world, they're certainly not the most pleasant. If you'd like a little freshening up afterwards, this stuff is great. Not only is it Febreeze for your genitals, but it also calms irritated skin and doesn't leave behind greasy residue. It's also 90% natural and free of all of the crap that in those drugstore "feminine deodorant sprays." Some pretty good stuff here.

Use

After Trace spray is meant to neutralize "intimate body odors" and leave you feeling soothed and fresh after your "intimate activities". We all know that sexy things often don't smell too sexy sometimes and this spray claims to be the solution to that. It's also something you can use to neutralize odors that like to creep up randomly, like those during that time of the month or the ick that comes from your ecosystem going haywire. Think of it as a Febreeze for your sexyparts. The gender-neutral scent makes it suitable for everyone no matter what equipment is in your pants.

Unlike those other "feminine hygiene" sprays that are loaded with perfumes and harsh chemicals that can make matters worse, After Trace is 90% natural. The ingredient list is made up of tons of different herbs and extracts that are well known for their odor removing and neutralizing properties, and effectiveness in treating skin irritation. Even though it's not recommended to mess around too much with "cleaning" your intimate areas, this is a much wiser option than the others you'd find at drugstores.

And one thing I'd like to note: you shouldn't be ashamed or embarrassed of what goes on naturally down there. It's all part of being a woman. As long as you give your parts a go every now and then with some mild soap and water you're fine. No one's panties naturally smell like bouquets of flowers or summer rain storms.

Here's an example of what you'd find in a well known "feminine deodorant spray":

Isobutane , Isopropyl Myristate , Zea Mays Starch (Corn) , Neutresse , Hydrated Silica , Mineral Oil , Lanolin Alcohol , Magnesium Stearate , Fragrance , Laureth-3 , Zinc Ricinoleate , Tetrahydroxypropyl Ethylenediamine , Propylene Glycol , Sodium Bicarbonate , Tocopherol.

Butane? Are you kidding me? Make sure you keep your vagina away from open flames with this stuff.

On the other hand, these are the ingredients you'll find in After Trace:

Water, Polysorbate 20, Symphytum Officinale (Comfrey) Rhizome/Root Extract, Saccharomyces Ferment, Oat Beta Glucan, Organic Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Arnica Montana Flower Extract, Amthemis Nobilis (Chamomile) Flower Extract, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Extract, Ascophyllum Nodosum (Algae) Extract, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Peel Oil, Citrus Aurantium Bergamia (Bergamot) Fruit Oil, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Oil, Allantoin, Caprylyl Glycol, Phenoxyethanol, Hexylene Glycol.

Natural Extracts:
- Comfrey reduces inflammation and promotes healing of irritated tissues.
- Saccharomyces Ferment is a yeast extract (really?) helps to create a barrier on the skin.
- Oat Beta Glucan is oat extract that helps to soothe skin irritations.
- Aloe is also an irritation soothing plant.
- Arnica Montana Flower Extract supposedly works as an anti-inflammatory.
- Chamomile also aids in calming irritation, and it smells pretty nice.
- Lavender oil, yet another skin soothing ingredient, provides much of the scent.
- Algae was an ancient sexual lubricant and helps to stimulate and moisturize the tissues.
- Orange peel and Bergamot give a natural citrus scent. Bergamot also has antibacterial properties.
- Rosemary is an astringent which helps to reduce excess oils and tone the skin.

Even though these are all natural ingredients, you really don't want to consume this stuff. Some of the herbs can cause some "gastrointestinal upset".

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

The After Trace spray resembles a rather light and sheer oil. It goes on incredibly smooth and doesn't really have much of an oily feeling to it at all. Basically, it's like mixing a little bit of oil with some water as it is pretty thin. You don't have weird residue left behind, but you can feel how it slightly coats the skin. Nothing greasy, sticky, tacky, oily, or gross. All you need is a spray or two to get everything covered.

It doesn't dry on contact like some other sprays do, but that's because of the lack of alcohol in it. (That's a good thing because drying stuff out down there isn't very fun.) Afterwards, you're left with a wonderful softness and great scent.

Taste / Aroma

I was a bit curious at how this would smell seeing as it's an "odor neutralizer". Sometimes those can smell rather gross and I'd rather be au naturale then smell like I've dumped a bottle of perfume in my crotch. Several of the natural ingredients that are in the formula to help soothe the skin also offer a great deal of fragrance. I was quite pleased by the scent I found here.

Okay, have you ever gone to one of those natural health food stores? You know that smell when you walk in? The one that smells like fragrant herbs and lavender? That's what this smells like. Earthy and herbal and soothing. It smells like a lot of the soaps I've gotten in these places, too. Personally, I love going to the health food store and I can close my eyes and feel like I'm there when I get a whiff of my panties. How charming, right? It does smell mostly of lavender with a little bit of the rosemary and citrus mixed in. Overall, it's a very light and refreshing scent that is totally gender neutral, so it doesn't discriminate at all. The scent is also pretty light. It's strong when it first goes on but quickly fades to something light and delicate.

Again, you don't really want to eat this stuff. It's not too good for you internally.

Performance

One issue I have is that the bottle refuses to spray upside down. It takes a little fiddling to get it to spray while tilted. It's something that can be easily worked around, though. Not a huge hassle.

All you really need is a spray or two. The huge bottle should last you a while because of that. Once you spray it on it goes on easily, but it is pretty thin. You can either spray it directly on yourself or spray it on a hand and rub it in. Doing it the second way prevents the frustration over the bottle refusing to spray unless it's straight. You're not really going to want to get this all up inside of you, but a good gloss over the labia should do you good.

When applied it does leave behind a slight cooling feeling which is actually quite nice. It doesn't dry immediately, as stated before, so you'll want to give it a few minutes before you slip back into your clothing. The bottle says you can either pat it dry, or (and I laughed when I read this) dry it with a warm blow dryer. Now, I really don't think I'm going to sit there and blow dry my vagina because it seems quite hilarious. All I did was wear my panties a little lower for a few minutes and I was fine.

It really did help to "neutralize odors" for me (not that there were many there in the first place) and soothed that after-sex friction burn. I enjoy this stuff a lot. I don't think I'm going to use it a whole bunch, but it's nice to have in case of "aroma emergencies".

Oh, and one last thing: If you plan on getting down to business in the oral department, you might want to wash this off if you've recently used it. Again, not something that's good to eat.

Follow-up commentary
After having reactions to other products in this line and not really feeling like I needed that "health food store" smell in my panties, I decided to toss this. I mean, it might work for other people, just not me.
