System JO personal feminine spray - spray discontinued by System JO - review by ~LaUr3n~

I could have sworn that not too long ago a feminine product came on Eden that boasted being pH balanced and able to safe guard or prevent things like UTIs and yeast infections. I thought this was that product, so I didn't re-read the description when I decided to add it to my cart. I've never had a yeast infection, but I've had a few painful UTI's, and so I thought this could be a replacement for all the cranberry juice I drink (that shit is expensive!). I was a bit bummed when I discovered that this product doesn't mention anything like that. However, I haven't had a UTI since I started using it. This product helps to mask odor and prevent it. Some of the same things that can cause odor can cause yeast and UTI infections, so I guess I won anyways! It helps to control moisture which in turn helps to control bacterial growth. It's light and easy to use on a daily basis. When you look at the ingredients, it's clear this still can help with what I want it to.

All natural ingredients: Witch Hazel, Aloe vera gel, Clary Sage Oil, Patchouli oil, Geranium Oil, Vanilla, Tea Tree, Fragrance, Origanum Vulgare, (Oregano)Leaf Extract, Thymus Vulgaris (Thyme) Extract, Cinnamomum Zeylancum(Cinnamon)Bark Extract, Olea Europaea(Olive) Leaf Extract, Rosemary Leaf Extract, Peppermint Leaf Extract, Lavender Flower Extract, Goldenseal Root Extract, Citrus Medica Limonum, Lemon Peel Extract, Purified Water.

-Witch Hazel: is a flower for which the extract is used medicinally, helps to shrink and contract blood vesels to normal size, common treatment for postnatal tearing of the perineum
-Aloe Vera Gel: soothing, moisturizing, and healing properties

This is a spray, so the contents are a liquid. When it is sprayed it feels light, as light as water being sprayed on the skin, but as it gets absorbed or rubbed in (not necessary, however), it has an ever so slightly oily feel to it. This effect goes away within minutes and leaves the skin feeling ridiculously soft! It evaporates/absorbs quickly. It's never sticky or uncomfortable feeling.

This is probably the hardest scent I've ever had to describe. When it is first sprayed the scent is very strong and sweet. I'm not a fan of the scent initially. It's too sweet for my tastes. But as it absorbs it starts to smell like candy! I think it smells like sweet tarts. This too is a very sweet smell, but to me, it is much more subtle. I still am not a huge fan of the smell, though. I would much more prefer a citrus like smell. The smell lingers for a long time and may smell different on each person. Personally, I find it a little nauseating.

Do not ingest this.

During that time of the month our pH balances can get thrown off. This spray prevents you from not feeling and smelling your very best during that time. However, this spray can be used daily and doesn't have to be used to prevent or cover any less than pleasant odors. I have used this spray after sex and after a shower. My theory is that it will prevent the development of potential bacterial or infection that might arise from being too moist or using a product that contains glycerin. This product does contain deodorants. I have gotten a few UTIs and was looking for something I could use on an everyday basis or an as needed basis to prevent UTIs. Since I got the product and have used it a handful of times, I have not gotten one and the spray does help make me feel fresh all day, but I'm not a fan of the smell. I'm not using this to cover up any smell, but the scent makes me worried that I NOW don't smell appealing. I guess the scent is designed to cover unpleasant odor, so that's why it is so strong and scented the way it is, but for me, I don't need that. It's too much. I can say that it leaves the skin feeling softer than it started. It feels natural and never feels sticky.

The spray comes in a generous 4 ounce bottle. It's white and pretty discreet with vague language on the front. System JO's packaging is always classic and simple without looking cheap. This white bottle will blend into other hygienic products well. The top is a spray dispenser and is easy to use. It also unscrews and has a plastic cap. I have not found that the bottle leaks. It has a short description of the product on the front and the ingredients, safety, and use on the back in few different languages.

I didn't have a bad experience with this spray, but I don't think I'll be using it as often as I thought I would. I do like to use this after my period. After using tampons, it can dry every thing up for a day or two. This spray restores the skin without adding a potentially bad amount of moisture. For that, this spray has a place in my routine, but will likely be used only a few times a month.
