Fetish Fantasy door swing - swing discontinued by Pipedream - review by ~LaUr3n~

I have always wanted to try some sort of sex swing. But, living in an apartment has put a hold on that. We cannot alter the ceiling to suspend a swing, and we cannot take up space with one that hangs from the metal rigs. A door swing was the only good option. This particular door swing from Pipedream comes totally assembled and is easy to put up and take down. It requires a sturdy door and works best for couples who are of average height and weight. This swing does not do any work for you and some might find it to be too much of a workout to be enjoyable. I actually like a bit of a workout during sex (sometimes!) so this was a lot of fun for me. It can be a bit awkward to get everything positioned correctly the first time, so there is a learning curve. However, if you are determined enough, this can provide a lot of pleasure and fun!

These are VERY sturdy! Safety was a huge factor for determining my comfort level and these helped me with that. The two separate straps (for lack of a better term) are made of a very thick and strong nylon. They are separate from one another so they can be put as close or as far apart on the door as you'd like. At the very top of each is a thick tube made from acrylic. This goes through the nylon loop and goes over the door. When the door is closed, this plastic piece keeps it from being pulled out...and prevents you from falling on your ass! It too is very sturdy and I was not afraid it would break. From this, the thick nylon band hangs. About 6" from the top is a VERY large plastic buckle. This puppy isn't breaking either! It adjusts the length of the arm straps.

Continuing down further is another buckle which will lower or raise the foot/leg loops. Both the loops for the arms and legs are very comfortable. They are lined with a plush kind of insulator. It smells like rubber though! This lining does make the loops comfortable to hold and place your legs or arms through. The loops themselves are not adjustable though. Therefore, they will not accommodate all weights. Larger body types will still be able to put feet and hands through, but might not be able to bring the loops all the way up to their thighs or arm pits. This may affect the variety of positions that can be achieved. There is a max circumference of 15" for the hand/arm bands and about 25" for the foot/thigh bands.

While the loops are comfortable, the nylon itself isn't. It can chaff and burn if you find yourself in a position that would constantly rub it against yourself or your partner.

I want to say that this is discreet. It was actually hanging over my bathroom door and my boyfriend brought a friend over unannounced. The friend didn't notice it. I have also passed it off as exercise equipment...demonstration included! It has nothing written on it that tells what it is. I don't think most people will figure it out.

So how well does it work? First I tried it on a metal door...our front door. Since we live in a college town and apartments are made cheaply here, I wasn't sure of the quality of our wood doors. I've seen wood doors get punched through pretty easily at apartment parties. It was a bit annoying to try to put both harness straps over the door, position them, and close the door without them falling out, all by myself. If you are wanting to surprise a partner, it might take a bit of patience. The metal door proved to be much too loud, so I tried a wood door. It actually worked just fine. Make sure your door is sturdy and not just a hollow thin pressed wood. You will likely "fuck" a hole in it!

After you have the door closed, LOCK it. Even if you think you have a sturdy latch...LOCK it! I almost fell flat on my ass when I pulled the first time. The door swung open and almost hit me in the face. Then pull on both straps as hard as you can so that the acrylic bar is against the door. After this is secure, you can adjust the arm and leg loops to the height you want. You probably won't adjust the arm ones too much. I had to adjust the leg ones a bit. The legs need to be pulled up according to the person's height that will be doing the thrusting. It may take a few tries to get it right.

Okay, so once everything is in position, you can get yourself in. This takes a bit of balance and is hard to do on your own. It helps if you have a partner hold the foot loops open. We used it with me putting my feet in and squatting down while holding onto the arm straps. I could then bounce up and down using my arms and legs for leverage. This can be a work out after a while, but it was comfortable and minimally aerobic when my partner was behind me also lifting me up and down by my ass and hips. We are both in fairly good shape and were athletes so we may have better physical dexterity than some. Don't expect this to hold you up on its own. It doesn't work that way at all.

There are a few ways we tried this...

1. As described above...with me facing the door and my feet are simply in the loops and my hands are holding onto the other loops while in a squat like position. This worked best. It was also easiest to get into and out of. It was the most comfortable and made me feel the most confident.

2. Basically the above but backwards. This didn't work so well unless you actually put your thighs through which was not as comfortable for me. My partner and I can have standing sex with my legs wrapped around him no problem. The harness seemed to just get in the way.

3. It can sort of be used as a bdsm harness. If you put your legs through and put your feet on the ground, then adjust the loops so they go up to your thighs, it pretty impossible to get out if it is still attached to the door. It was fun to use this way.

4. We have a hall way in our apartment that has doors on both sides. This gave me an idea. I put one strap in one door and the other across the hall. I was able to suspend myself off the ground so my partner could give me oral. It is difficult to give me oral while standing since he is half a foot taller. He could kneel, didn't have to crane his neck, and I didn't have to be on my tippy toes!

I weigh about 150 pounds and my partner weighs about 180. We both got in the harness and it supported us just fine with no problems (it says it can hold up to 300 lbs). It can get tiring after a while and requires some endurance, so keep this in mind. Again, it does not hold you up on its own. You need to put work in too! My partner is 6" and I'm 5'6". We had no trouble adjusting for our heights.

I wish this harness came in a nice black zip up bag like some of the other items in the Fetish Fantasy Series. It comes in a lager white cardboard box. It has pictures of a girl in the harness. These pictures give good ideas of how to use it, so it is valuable for that but makes the box not discreet at all. Also inside the box is a blindfold. I had not mentioned it before because it is so flimsy and cheap, that it really wasn't worth mentioning at all.

I imagine that these could get lube or sweat etc. on them, so cleaning might be necessary every so often. I would just spray it down with Febreeze and spot wash with a cloth. I say to spray it because the rubber smell was quite nauseating for awhile.

I am glad I was brave enough to try this. I cannot tell you how many times I canceled this request for assignment. Three times maybe? I was not sure that I would feel confident in it because I don't like things cutting into me, but the bands are thick enough that this really wasn't all that much of an issue. It might be for larger frames though. While it did aid in positioning for a one or two positions, it seemed to get in the way for a few others. There are many possibility with this and it does take a bit of practice. If you are up to the challenge, it can be very rewarding.
