Gun Oil may be best left for the guns.

With a runny consistency and a slimey after feel, I just can't give Gun Oil a shining review. It's frustrating to use. Instead of absorbing into the skin, it sits on top and dries quickly. There's little lubrication, but the slikness of it might be good for anal play.

Use

Gun Oil is a silicone lubricant and although I've never had the desire for anal play, I have to say this would probably be a lubricant better for that purpose. I buy sample lubricants before buying full size and I'm glad I chose to try a sample before buying because I won't use this often at all. While there are a couple of good things about this lubricant, there are far better lubricants that fit my needs.

Gun Oil would more than likely be best for anal play. It's silicone so it shouldn't be used with silicone toys and some may find the messy-ness of it too much of a hassle for every day lubricant. Unless you have extra time after play, this is not a lubricant I would recommend.

Gun Oil is actually the same product as Pink Silicone Lubricant For Women. They contain the exact ingredients. Not extremely important, but I thought it was noteworthy.

I bought the samples of Gun Oil because I liked the ingredients. It isn't packed full of parabens and chemicals and doesn't contain glycerin. Even though I'm not prone to infections and am not sensitive, I prefer staying away from harmful ingredients.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

Gun Oil has a very oily texture. It's thin and extremely runny. To be totally honest, I found it to be too high maintenance for vaginal use of any kind. I'm terribly bothered by any residue or messy-ness left behind and I need to shower immediately after having Gun Oil on my lady bits.

It feels oily, but not nearly as greasy as something like vegetable oil. After a minute, it begins to dry. I say dry because it does not feel like it absorbs into my skin any. Instead, it feels like it sits on top of the skin and dries there. After a couple of minutes it feels soft, but slippery even when dry. I would not recommend using this while standing in the shower. With such slippery-ness, it would probably be safer to use in a bath rather than stand up shower.

I like the slick, slippery-ness of Gun Oil, but it feels slimey on my lady bits and I have to wash it off. I don't feel comfortable leaving it on. I especially hate that it needs to be washed off before getting dressed again because it WILL stain clothing. If it's a small amount, it may not stain denim, but cotton, lycra and pretty much everything else will stain from it.

I only have the sample pack, but have seen and felt of the full sized bottles. With Gun Oil being so slippery and oily, it would be hard to hold the bottle and pour using one hand. I imagine it would slip because even my sample packs slip. This also means it will run if not rubbed around on the skin immediately. That isn't a problem for me, but worth noting. It stays in place once it's rubbed where you want it, but dries up incredibly fast. With the thin consistency, it would pour out quickly.

Ingredients:
Cyclopentasiiloxane, Dimethicone, Dimethiconol, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract.

I am no expert, but from what I understand, Dimethicone is a silicone compound and is supposed to have healing effects for dry skin and some irritations. With Vitamin E, Aloe and Dimethicone, I expected more effects from this. I'm far from an expert, but the way I understand it, Cyclomethicone and Dimethiconol are the ingredients in Gun Oil that give the silky feeling on the skin. Cyclomethicone and Dimethiconol are derived from sand.

Taste / Aroma

About the only thing I like about Gun Oil is that it's scent and tasteless. I licked it from my hand and can't detect any taste at all. It does leave the feeling of vegetable oil in the mouth though. I wouldn't recommend ingesting this though. It is not labeled edible, but if there happens to be a little on your kissable spots then it won't taste or smell when kissed or licked. Since oral is a major part of our play, my partner and I prefer lubricants without a bad or bitter taste.

Performance

Just for using with toys or penis in vagina sex, I would not recommend Gun Oil for several reasons. Gun Oil was the messiest lubricant I've ever used. It stains easily and since it is so runny, it has no problem making its way to the sheets and clothing. I have a nice stain on my pink sheets and even managed to get it on a dress and in my laptop's mouse pad! Yikes! I learned real fast that this is too much maintenance for me.

As far as anal play this would do, but will probably require a lot. For those that prefer using silicone lubricants, I would advise you to look elsewhere unless the messiness isn't a bother to you. I've never had a silicone lubricant this runny and messy. I had to apply more after minutes so it doesn't last long.

Like I mentioned earlier, Gun Oil just sits on top of mine and my partners skin, never absorbing really. It leaves a silky-to-the-touch feeling on the skin, but it's just that layer of oily-ness on the skin. It leaves me feeling slimey and my partner a mess.

Cleaning up after using a bit of Gun Oil means me, my sheets need and partner need a bath. Neither of us are too fond of the Gun Oil lube. I guess we may be a rare couple, but it just doesn't work out for our needs.

This is a silicone lubricant so it should only be used with glass, steel and the like. No silicone toys with this!
    • Dries up too fast
    • Not compatible with all materials

Packaging

Since I bought sample packs, the packaging is a simple tear open foil. The sample pack is small and says Gun Oil on the front so it may not grab attention, but the back reveals that this is lubricant. I would not recommend traveling with this since there's a risk of it leaking and ruining clothing. If you're using a sample pack, throw it away after use or find a container for it. If left in the unopened foil, it will leak all over everything! The full sized bottles aren't something I'd travel with either since this leaks so easily.

There are minimal instructions on the back that states to apply to genitals. Other than that, it just lists the ingredients.
