Water-based lubricant
by K-Y Brand

Jelly For Your P and BJ

Overall K-Y is a good lube. It was the first lube I used and I still use it, even after trying other kinds. It is inexpensive and easy to find, and the bottle flips open for convenient use. It can dry up sometimes depending on the situation, but nothing that can't be fixed by adding a little more! It does contain glycerin, however, so beware if you have allergic reactions.

Use

K-Y is probably the most commonly used lube on the market today. It is water based and used in most Obstetric/Gynecology clinics that I know of. It is of medium thickness and stays for a decent amount of time. This is best used for vaginal sex because it is not thick or durable enough for anal.

This is the first lube I ever used, and I have been using it up until my recent adventures in Eden. I feel that this is a great lube to start out with because it's easy to find and use.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

The texture of this lube feels kind of thick and goopy to the touch, but it isn't a bad goopy feeling (if that makes any sense). It is a thicker, heavier water based lube. It does not run and make a mess anywhere, nor does it stain anything. It is scentless and tasteless, but can be used for oral if you so choose.

Taste / Aroma

This is scentless, and has a very light taste to it. I can't really explain what it tastes like to me, but it is almost kind of sweet and doesn't stick around very long.

Performance

KY lasts for a good while but needs some re application if you have a hard time staying wet afterward. Since I had my son I don't get as wet as I used to and I need lube a lot of the time when having sex. I have had to re apply this quite often during sessions that lasted for an hour or longer. It does dry up fairly quick and can get a little sticky if too much is used. It does clean up easily, however, and does not leave your skin feeling oily or slick.

Packaging

I have the 4 oz. bottle of this. It comes with a flip top that stays on well, but excess lube can get clogged up in the cap. You can fix this by taking a paper towel and wiping it off. The lube is dispensed by squeezing it out of the bottle, and it comes out fairly quickly so squeeze slowly.

Since K-Y is very well known, I would say that it is pretty obvious what it is. It is small enough to travel with and can be stored easily due to its shape and size.

Special Features

Although K-Y has glycerin in it, it is hypoallergenic and doubles as a moisturizer for your skin during use. It is the #1 doctor recommended brand of lubrication. The ingredients are: Purified water, Glycerin, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Chlorhexidine Gluconate, Gluconolactone, Methylparaben, and Sodium Hydroxide ; which can be found on the product page.
Follow-up commentary
After having the opportunity to experience several other lubes I have decided that I don't care for KY. It is too thick and goopy, plus it doesn't last that long at all. It dries up too fast and you go through too much too soon.

My all time favorite lube is now Liquid Silk, that lasts forever and feels just like the title says: Liquid Silk.

Note that it also has parabens (methylparaben), which some people do have problems with.
