Lube? Yes. Tasty? Hell no.

The lemon drop Id lube was the worst tasting lubes I have ever tried. It also does not last long enough, I will not be using it again let alone buying another one. Spend the extra dollar or two and buy a better quality lube.

Use

For my purposes the best use of this lube is paired with a toy for slippery wet clitoral stimulation and vaginal insertion. Since it is a water based lube it is safe to use with any toy or with condoms. It is not the best lube for anal, since it is not very long lasting and not thick enough. I also would not suggest using it paired with oral (at least not the lemon flavored one) as it tasted horrible. It is a useful addition for anyone, be they male or female, for slippery masturbation or insertions.

It is a slick addition for anytime you need that extra bit of lubrication, though you may not want to depend solely on this product for your moisture needs.

There is a glycerin component in the ID lube so you should avoid using it excessively or if you are prone to yeast infections you may want to avoid using it altogether. I also found that I had a mild allergic reaction to this product. Nothing to worry about as it was confined to my chest and shoulder where I scratched an itch.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

The ID lube provides a slick, smooth texture without being overly oily, greasy, or sticky. It adds a pleasant slippery sleekness to sex or a handjob. It was fairly thick in comparison to some other water based lubes (which isn't saying much), but was not nearly as thick as most other types like silicone.

Though this lube was viscous enough to be where we needed it to be, it was not viscous enough to stay there. In other words before we hit the hay we needed to change our sheets. Thankfully it will not stain and a quick toss in the wash will have them as good as new.

One of the best things about this product was the container. The easy to use pump top made it easy to pour and make sure it went where I wanted it to go.

Taste / Aroma

I did not like the taste of the lemon drop lube. It did not really taste like lemons at all. Instead of sour, tangy or tart like I had expected, it was just bitter and artificial chemical taste to it. It had a strange and rather unpleasant aftertaste too, I believe it was the artificial sweetener. The taste was not as unpleasant when it was actually on my wife as it was straight out of the bottle, but still not good.

The smell is fairly light and is neither pleasant nor unpleasant. While I write this review I have a small sample sitting next to me to refer to. I am finding that the scent has a very familiar undercurrent to it that I can not place. I want to say that it smell like the herbal lemon cough drops I use but that is not quite it either.

Performance

This lube lasted around ten minutes of heavy play and vaginal insertion before it needed to be reapplied. Not too bad a time, but not great either. It puts a damper on the mood when you need to stop mid-session to add more lube.

Like most flavored water based lube when it dries up it does become sticky and somewhat unpleasant, thankfully clean up was a breeze. It is a water based lube and therefor can be cleaned off with simple soap and warm water. I myself used a sex wipe and found that worked great as well.

The ID lube served it's main purpose fairly well. It is a quality lube for the time that it last and provides a slippery smooth feel. We used it with a toy and mostly as foreplay. By the time the lube wears off my wife is normally wet enough to no longer need any more.

As a side note at one point during the evening I needed to scratch an itch on my chest and a short while later a broke out in hives and was itchy. Thankfully this was not true for my more sensitive areas though I am not sure as to why that is the case. So as a caution some may be allergic to a few of the ingredients.

Ingredients: water (aqua), glycerin, propylene glycol, cellulose polymer, polyethylene oxide, carbomer 981, polysorbate 20, methylparaben, sodium benzoate, sodium saccharin, aspartame, tetrahydroxypropyl ethylenediamine, diazolidinyl urea, EDTA

Packaging

I ordered this lube from Eden a few weeks ago, it arrived in the standard priority mail box. Upon opening I found the canister within a tied clear plastic bag. Other than the thick brown paper filler and an Eden catalog that was it. No instructions, but do you really need instructions for a lube?

The canister itself is small, durable, and easy to use. About 3 3/4" tall and a diameter of 1 1/2 ". It has a clear plastic cap with the ID logo on it. The nozzle has a white plastic plug in it to prevent spillage. It has a pump top that is easy to use with just one hand.

With a plastic cap and a plug for the spout the ID juicy lube bottle is easy to transport without worry of spilling. It is not a very discreet bottle though. Even a cursory glance would tell you the purpose of what you hold.
    • Does not leak
    • Easy to use / dispense
    • Not discreet

Experience

Just the other night I received a very large order from Eden. So I used the lube in combination with the Sex in shower waterproof silicone vibrator, Purple fur blindfold, Jaguar cuffs, Ankle restraints, and tethers. It was a very fun evening, at least until I had my allergic reaction. That kind of ruined it for me, but I did not let it stop me from making sure my wife (now securely restrained and blindfolded) was exhausted from more than a few orgasms.
Follow-up commentary
I can not say much more about this lube. After the first use when I had an allergic reaction I kept the bottle around only long enough to review the product. Even if I was not allergic to it I would not get it again. There are better lubes on the market. The only reason this one stood out for me was the lemon flavor. Unfortunately, that was disgusting.
