Slippery When Wet
It gets the job done and is easy to purchase. Overall, the thick formula makes it great for insertion purposes. Not so great if you are trying to use it for lubrication DURING sex, because it tends to clump up an requires reapplication. The packaging is discreet and compact, which makes it easy to store.
If you want an aide for insertion this is a great buy, but if you need something for during sex you should explore different options.

The squeeze bottle is very discreet and easy to hide. It feels good knowing that it would look like any other lotion just in case I have any visitors. There have been several occasions where it has been left out unnoticed. It comes in a white squeeze bottle. The bottle is easy to snap open and close, which is important in the heat of the moment. Like many squeeze bottles, it's hard to get the last bit, so I would recommend squeezing from the bottom and working your way up.
The KY jelly is water-based and has a thick consistency. It's a jelly, so it does not run. This is great if you're trying to keep it on a concentrated area like a toy. Because it is water-based, it can be used on toys as well. I used it for some extra lubrication on the clitoral area while using my rocket. It worked well up until it began to dry. It requires extra applications at times because of this. If I were to buy this product again, I would get the 4oz bottle not the 2oz, because of the amount of reapplications.
The compact size makes it easy to take along with you or keep in a drawer without having it clutter the area. It fits very well in my medicine cabinet without drawing too much attention.
It works well for a little extra slide. I used it for first time anal with success. Because of the thickness, it didn't run to other areas on application. This made it easier to anally insert without it slipping and sliding to the vaginal area. It is a water-based and clear solution, and feels clean with no flavor or scent. Sometimes condoms can build up too much friction, so it is good for a little dab for easy insertion.
Overall, the product delivers.

Experience
I would be careful on the amount of product used at a single time. But it really depends on personal preference. I, for one, tend to get really wet and just need a little for the initial penetration to get it going. It does tend to build up, clump, and become sticky. Being that this is a classic choice and easily available at the local pharmacy, it was pretty much an easy over the counter and inexpensive buy. It's great to get the job done, but if you want easier clean up or if you're turned off by the clumps, there are other formulas available.

KY - Jelly or Oil? | 19 |
Thank you for viewing K-Y jelly – water-based lubricant review page!
Welcome to EF, hope you enjoy being here!
I also agree with Kate, you should try out a new lubricant here, particularly ones that are glycerin free. I used to love KY but now I go for more natural things and lubes that don't contain glycerin or clump/ball up like the KY does.
