K-Y is a standard over-the-counter water-based lubricant that is relatively inexpensive and is best used for masturbation and insertion, but not for oral or anal. I would not recommend this product for male masturbation due to the stickiness and tendency to ball up.

I associate very young users, sexually conservative users and older grandparents as being the primary purchasers of this product. Once people start to experiment a little and find out what other lubricants are available, they generally opt to use a more sophisticated product. K-Y does wash off immediately and leaves no residue behind.

K-Y is a thicker, sticky lubricant that has a tendency to make small rubbery balls after being used for a short period of time. Thinning it out with water does help, but it just extends the time of usage before it becomes sticky and gummy.

It squeezes out of the tube fairly well until the last quarter of the container. K-Y does stay in place until it starts getting old, then it does thin out and becomes somewhat runny. However the stickiness and gummy issues are still present in the older tube.

K-Y has a very light aroma that reminds me of Jergen's Hand Lotion. It is pleasant, non-invasive and will not overpower your senses. I have noticed that when I wear perfume or lotion I do not smell the lubricant at all.

DO NOT consume this product! It tastes terrible and the flavor lingers for quite awhile. I definitely do not recommend this lubricant for oral sex or any other areas you might lick, kiss or place you mouth on. Warning, do not use in any area you might put any flavored product, whip cream, etc. on either. The flavor does linger where the lube has absorbed into your skin.

This lubricant is a basic water-based product that does not last very long without getting very sticky and gumming up in small rubber cement-like balls. It is fine for beginners and as a back up for when you run out of your preferred brand, but in my personal opinion, not for regular usage.

I like the availability and price of the jelly, however the drawbacks were just too uncomfortable and many for this to be my regular lubricant.

K-Y is packaged in the basic product-sized box that is very easy to open. The directions and ingredient list is written on the back and sides and the packaging is not discrete. You do have to unscrew the lid and remove the aluminum seal which can be a bit challenging for those of us with arthritis. Make sure you close the lid securely, or the product will seep out and leave a huge mess! I put the plastic container in a zip lock bag prior to travel to protect my other items in case of leakage.

I always mix a small amount of K-Y with a like amount of water in a shot glass prior to using the lube. This really helps the stickiness and clumping and adds a bit smoother feeling to the product during usage.
