This was my first lube ever used...and I am still using it!

In short, this is a very basic water based lube that not only gets the job done, but gets the job done at a fair price. And when it comes down to the bottom line...not only would I recommend buying it, but I am a repeat purchaser.
Lasts Long

To start off, this is the first lube I had ever used and it is by far my favorite still. There are many pros for this product and few negatives. First, let me say that I use this lube for both masturbation and to lubricate toys. JO H2O is an odorless, tasteless lube. The price is not the cheapest on the market, nor is it the most expensive. I consider it a fair price for the product, and as far as lubes go, I would definitely recommend against buying the cheapest products as I have found them to be too runny. And bad lube can ruin what would have otherwise been a good experience.

This is a water based lube. As with all water based lubes, there are two common negatives. The first is that H2O based lube does not last as long as other types of lube, and the second is that it is highly water soluble (washes away quickly when exposed to water). As for the longevity of the lube, JO H2O lasts longer than most other water based lubes I have tried. However, it does not last as long as any of the silicone based lubes I have used. Though to be honest, I hardly use silicone based lubes. Also it is nearly as smooth, but not as smooth as those silicone based lubes. As for H2O lubes being water soluble, it is not usable and quite useless in the shower. As is the case with all water based lubes, they wash away quickly when exposed to water. However, the benefit of it being water soluble is that it allows for easy cleanup when washing dirty toys.

The other thing I feel is important to mention here, and I have hinted at it previously in my paragraph, is when to best use JO H2O as well as other water based lubes and when to choose a silicone lube instead. The simple rule of thumb, which can be taken from chemistry, is like-dissolves-like. There are two different classes of materials: hydrophobic (non-polar based i.e.: silicone lubes) or hydrophilic (water based i.e.: JO H2O). JO H2O is hydrophilic, which means it is water soluble and will be easily dissolved in water. This makes it less useful when exposed to water, like in the shower. JO H2O and other water based lubes are also poor choices for enema lubricants as they can be washed deep into the body whereas silicone based lubricants tend to stay more in place. However, its hydrophilic nature also makes it easier to clean off of toys with water. Silicone lubes, on the other hand, work well in the shower. However, they should not be used on silicone toys. This is because the silicone based toy as well as the silicone based lube are hydrophobic substances. The silicone lube will destroy the toy over time, softening and eventually breaking the surface as well as making the toy more odorous. JO H2O, on the other hand, is a great alternative for toy play as it will not damage the silicone toy or cause it to become more odorous. Also JO H2O, as well as other water and silicone based lubes, is safer to use on latex condoms while oil based lubes are not.
In high school I masturbated a lot, probably more so than most kids my age, although I feel most high school boys think this about themselves. One day I started to feel a little sore on my penis. I had nearly rubbed it raw. I started to experiment with different kinds of lubricants. I tried different lotions, Vaseline, shampoo and even just plain tap water. Some worked well while others did not and just made a mess. I was reading articles on forums about alternatives to lube and came across one guy who had written “the best alternative to lube is just don’t chicken out. Just go to the store and buy some.” Well, it was not that exact same wording, but that is close enough for you to get the idea. So finally I mustered up the courage and went to the store. This took a bit of courage as I was only 16 at the time. But after finally making the purchase and coming back home, I tried it out and you know what...the guy from the internet was right. This was a lot better than any alternative. So for any first timers out there who may be on the fence about ordering this or not, I highly recommend ordering!
