Wetlook dress with molded cups - mini dress discontinued by Coquette - review by spookycutie

This dress is super hot, and I was coveting it from the moment I laid eyes on it. Ah, and finally, today it officially became *mine!* I love everything from the Coquette Darque collection, and after today, I plan on adding more of their items to my arsenal.





Packaging This dress came on a chintzy plastic hanger, folded slightly in a plain plastic bag. It was folded gently, so woo-hoo, no wrinkles! The tag has pictures of the same stock photos we have here on Eden, and indicates your chosen size. The tags are attached with strings, not that stupid plastic tag thing a lot of items have. I broke the hanger taking the dress off of it, but that's no biggie; I paid for the dress, I couldn't care less about the quality of the hanger. (Speaking of quality...the dress is in perfect condition, with no loose threads or unfinished edges!)

Fit/Look/Feel---For reference, I bought this in a MEDIUM and wear a bra size 34D.
Nothing makes me happier than seeing something in real life look identical to the pictures, and sure enough, this dress was exactly the same as it looks - drop dead gorgeous. It fits like a dream, VERY true to size. The only part that's a little loose on me is the waist area, and it's not TOO loose, it just results in a little bit of bunching around my ribcage. If you have a larger tummy, you might want to order a size up - the dress is stretchy, but also a little clingy.

Now, let me get this off my chest...*screams* FINALLY, something with real bust support! (For me, at least.) The cups on this are the first item of lingerie I've ever bought where they actually FIT ME and I'm not busting out unintentionally! No needing to wear a bra with this one!
Like the title implies, I feel like a 'darque' Jessica Rabbit...Mmm ;) I'm 5'7" and the dress is the same length on me as it is on the model.





This dress is made of 20% Spandex and 80% Nylon, "exclusive of trim." I guess you just have to guess at what the straps and the back lace-up string are, haha. To clean, handwash ONLY, and hang to dry. Because of the material, this dress has quite a lot of stretch to it - I was able to pull it up over my rather large posterior without hearing that dreaded ripping sound, and without loosening the back laces.

The only thing I would really change? The buckles. To me, they don't add much appeal, and they sort of dig in a little bit. That problem might be resolved if you don't pull the straps up as high and tight, though.
In short...this makes me look long, lean, and busty! LOVE IT!

I've worn this a couple of times now, and I love it more every time. It makes me look and feel great. The only thing that I noticed was that, the first time I wore this, I saw that the right strap was starting to wear. The wetlook material was torn and separating from the stretchy material the strap is made out of. It's easily fixable, but still, to have this start happening after the first time I wore the dress was a bit alarming. Maybe it as there when I got the dress originally and I somehow missed it, but I doubt that... Anyway, just make sure you look yours over carefully!

Also, don't wear this dress on a hot, humid day! I did and it rode up like crazy and stuck to my sweaty self. I guess that's my fault, though. The dress in itself isn't terribly hot and sticky, it was just combined with the weather.
